Biggby Coffee — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

My sister and I came across from Sault, Ontario just to grab a coffee and a bagel. We had just discovered Bigby’s a few weeks ago and were blown away by the warm & friendly service our first time going. The menu was new to us and our barista was so helpful & kind. Unfortunately our experience today (June 14th around 12pm) was much different. My sister and I agreed this was without a doubt the most atrocious service we had ever received. Our barista initially failed to greet us, wouldn’t look at us and barely acknowledged us as we gave our orders. It made me immediately uncomfortable as I wasn’t even sure if she was ready to take my order because she just stood behind the till silently with her arms crossed and looking away. She didn’t even ask us how we were paying, just set the credit machine up and walked away. She then began working on our orders and as the items were ready she simply placed them on the counter, far enough away that we had to reach for them without again acknowledging us or telling us who’s items were who’s. After the last item was placed on the counter, she again walked away without looking at us or speaking to us. It truly was astonishing, awkward, and bizarre. I have never been treated with such a cold and disrespectful demeanour at a place of business. The coffee and food was amazing but the horrendous service ruined the whole experience and left us speechless. I went to the biggby at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning. I ordered my usual, the $9 Biggby Bundle. I handed her a $20, and ask for a $10 back with them usually putting the change in the tip jar, per usual. She said, "it's actually going to be $10.60, so here's $9.40 back." I said, for the $9 deal?" And they're operating under tax is what racked it up, but I've ordered this before. It was not tax. I asked for the receipt and the subtotal is clearly $10. $5.49 minus $1.49 is $4 and $6.99 minus .99 cents is $6. That's $10. I said this is straight up false advertising. They had no explanation and were rude and dismissive to me being upset over $1. I understand service workers don't care about the $1 either. I can afford the dollar. I understand that is a privilege that not everyone has right now. For me, it's the lack of explanation for the upcharge and false advertising. I am willing to obtain legal counsel to explore my options against Biggby Coffee for not honoring the displayed price and giving no written explanation as to why I was upcharged because I am straight up sick of corporations squeezing as much as they can out of little people. I service worker coming in before their shift for a coffee and a sandwich may not be able to eat that upcharge if paying with tips. Or honestly, let's say today I just pulled up with a $10 instead of my usual $20 bill, then I couldn't get my usual. Like to me, it's not the dollar....

Carol, what record ? We are all entitled to OUR own opinions? I felt on several occasions I was treated poorly by this certain individual. I never once said she was anything just how I FELT. So please tell me what a professional manner is I'd love to know because at the drive thru with all 3 of my children with me and talking about drugs in front of them seems so professional ? Also accused of complaining about drinks is not true,however if they dont make it right they can make it again. I worked there and know what is what burnt milk and another time no syrup was added in our red bull freeze . I have never asked for a free drink and I tip at least 3 dollars everytime I am there. And your also accusing me of writing reviews under another name also not true. If I'm paying almost 7 dollars and 3 a tip I expect my drink made right. Everytime its wrong Kayla just wants to argue dont matter if customers are around or children. To be accused of lying to get free drinks is insulting because I've been a loyal customer and pay your girls a good tip. I know I would never expect to be confronted and feel attacked in FRONT of my children and your daughter rub it in my face that ya know she's your daughter you know the owners daughter and to stereotype...
