Anchorage 5 — Restaurant in Sausalito

Found this via the 'local favourites' section on google maps, and extremely enjoyed it. They're only open for breakfast and lunch but they have quite a big range of things you can try. Between us we had a burger (which was described as 'huge' and 'delicious'), the eggs benedict and the corn beef hash. I had the huevos rancheros, which came with rice, beans and extra tortillas as well as having two of the biggest fried eggs I've ever seen. And it doesn't break the bank either.

Inside it wasn't too packed, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the decor wasn't too overdone; it has a maritime theme but isn't tacky. The portholes built into the walls were interesting.

Visited from Seattle for two weeks. Good food, courteous and friendly staff who pay attention but don't continuously ask you if you need anything or if the food is good or if you want more coffee. They pay attention and pour you coffee when your cup is half full instead of asking you. They watch and take care of you without continually interrupting you like so many other restaurants these days. Great theme and atmosphere. Clean. If toast comes with your order ask them ahead of time to butter the whole slice instead of a dollop in the middle. Oh. I really detest always having my breakfast come with potatoes. I have been going there for years, but recently I started a breakfast club there with a bunch of old doctors who I have known all of my life.

They are mostly in there 90’s now, and it’s so wonderful to get them together, and out again.

Regina is such a sweetheart, she always knows that we are coming. She always knows each one of them and what they like. She always knows that my mom and dad are going to be late, and she always rubs my moms shoulders, just for getting my dad there.

We all have lived in Marin sense the early sixties, and have eaten at about every good restaurant that ever came along, and that has been a lot.
