Great food, but service was very slow. There were many servers working, and very few tables yet it still took us quite a while to get served after we had sat down. When we had finished our meals, which were great, they cleared out plates but took a very long time to return with our check. The servers were standing around watching their phones and it was clear they had forgotten about us. Again, the food was great and definitely worth checking out, especially when their patio opens this summer. They just need to work on getting their staff to move with a little more urgency. *
Update: I returned with friend when their patio opened this summer and I am very happy to report that the food is still awesome, the drinks are good and the service has seen a marked improvement since my first visit. It was still a tad slow for our server to get to us when we sat down, but they were quite busy so I'm willing to overlook it as I know how that can be, as a server myself. After that everything went smoothly and the server was friendly and moved with some urgency without making us feel rushed. If you're looking for a small Mexican restaurant with good food and a great little patio, check this place out. It's worth stopping in. I will be going back next time I get that craving....
Read moreThis place used to be good and I see the good reviews are from a half year or so ago.
Now the food is awful and our service was the second worst I've ever had. The worst was two decades ago. We always leave a 35% tip, but this time left 10% even though we had no service.
Went here for dinner. We are warm and friendly, caring people. Yerri74 took our order, and that's all he did. Kitchen staff dropped off the meal. The order was wrong. No one, including our waiter, ever came to our booth again. Saw him across the restaurant, though. I got cheese enchiladas as part of my meal and asked for onions in it. He repeated the order back correctly. Not only were there no onions, there was no cheese! I ended up eating thin corn tortillas with only sauce on part of it, the rest was just tortillas. Awful. Never got more water either.
Never got our bill. Finally went up to the host and asked the host to get it. He didn't follow through either. 15 minutes later went up to the water server, she went and got it.
Kitchen was filthy with a bunch of guys standing around with their hands behind their heads chatting and laughing.
Sad this place went downhill in both quality of food and...
Read moreGreat Mexican (street) tacos, familiar tex-mex fare, authentic Mexican dishes, and a surprisingly wide array of south of the border seafood options. Friendly and attentive staff with a consistent kitchen.
I've dropped by the new Savage location 3 times since they opened (it's close to home, a great value, and Savage is in need of interesting places to eat). Everything I've had has been good, but the Mexican tacos are perfect (chicken, carnitas, steak, pastor, or chorizo with onions and cilantro. spicy salsa on the side); each is tender, flavorful, and fully loaded - the tortillas can't hold all of the toppings. Each visit, we get a few tacos and try something new from the menu.
The location and space are the only drawbacks I've found - it's in the parking lot of a strip mall and a little below grade from CR42 and easy to miss when driving by. The space has been a number of businesses over the last 10 years and both the dining area and bar are on the smaller side. The deck/patio will be great...
