Manny's Pizza — Restaurant in Savanna

The only good thing about our experience was the taco salad and the very nice bartender. The taco salad came out quick and was very good. Past that though, this experience was horrid to put it lightly. Was not busy when we arrived. Maybe 5 tables at most were seated. Took just a few minutes short of an hour to get 1 of the 2 pizzas ordered. The other couple with us ordered a pepperoni pizza 10 minutes after the first couple we were with did for their 2 boys and received it before the kids got theirs. No servers, have to order at a window for food and go to the bar for drinks. Nobody checked on how we were doing. I had to remove the appetizer dishes from our table even though multiple employees walked by. We had asked an employee about the long time for pizzas. He went to go ask and never came back to the table. One of the guys had to go flag him down and ask again and he said oh I forgot your name. Finally got the second pizza. Was super chewy and overly greasy. Then my boyfriend goes to the bathroom as we are leaving only to find a pizza cardboard in a urinal with out of order written on it in black marker. Which kind of makes sense since eating the pizza will cause you to be in the bathroom anyway. So bartender good, taco salad amazing which is the only reason I even gave a star. I'm sorry, but if you are not from the area I would NOT recommend stopping here.

We are not locals so we stopped in based on the 4.5 star review. We ordered the chicken mexican combo and a small pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños. Total with one drink was about $25 so the price was good.

We got the mexican quite quickly (waited about 5-10 minutes) and WOW it was very salty. The tomato and lettuce tasted fresh but the chicken tasted very salty and the cheese... tasted very artificial and strange. Beans and rice were good but also salty.

We then waited 30+ more minutes for our small pizza when people around us who got there later than us received theirs. I asked at the front and they said 10 more minutes.

When it came, it tasted a lot like a frozen pizza, except the sauce was like those Totinos pizza rolls and was extremely greasy. 1-2 bites made my stomach hurt and I couldn't eat anymore.

Service was overall fine but I just don't understand these other reviews saying this food is amazing. If you are from Chicago area or a place that has actually authentic Mexican American food, you will be shocked by how strange this tastes.

Who knows? Maybe we got a bad plate. In any case, I will not...

We were in the area on vacation. Not many choices in this area to eat so this was the obvious first choice as the size of this building is enormous so we figured we'd have lots of choices. Upon entry we felt lost. But eventually found our way. We had just a few choices of food, no big deal, we ordered extra to take back to cabin; however my husband had the pizza and left 3/4 at the table because it was way too greasy & I left 1/2 of my "taco" plate behind as well. Sorry guys, not the best, also very greasy! We ordered a few simple Fuzzy Navel drinks - it came with fruit flys 🤬 Then to top off our low key, get away from the stress of life event, we got to listen to the guy that worked there walking around complaining in the bar constantly saying he was doing everyone else's job. Times are tough, we know, but a manager is needed around that place! We did purchase shirts upon entry ( but got home and realized that even those are printed off center - really? WOW ) Not sure if we would try...
