I was warmly greeted by the lovely Irishman, David, at the host stand and my visit just got better from there. The menu was a perfect blend of options and after meeting Ning (David's wife and clearly the Boss!) I took her suggestion and tried the Thai tea and Chicken Satay to start. The satay was juicy and tender with a light sweet dipping sauce. The tea was perfectly creamy & sweet and paired nicely with the overall meal. I chose Panang curry with chicken for my entree and was equally impressed! While I thought I could handle medium, it was a touch spicier than I could eat. David immediately noticed and Ning quickly took the "bowl of heat" to tame it a bit. She returned after adding a few spoons of coconut milk and it was perfection. I don't remember the last time a restaurant noticed a problem and adjusted it perfectly just for me. I truly felt valued as a guest and was thrilled that they adjusted MY plate of food without wasting it! The veggies weren't overcooked/mushy so it was clearly fresh! This restaurant opened 5 days ago with no signs or fanfare but when word gets out, they are going to be packed! If you drive by and think the shopping center looks quiet, it is, but trust me, they are open and making killer food with a warm and inviting dining atmosphere. Thank you David and Ning for being the culinary highlight of my week...
Read moreWonderful place. We were debating about a last-minute dinner, and where to go. The first consideration was to head back into the historical district to have our meal. I was slightly apprehensive about the small amount of reviews, but at the same time due to the fact that my family wanted to eat closer than where I originally was intending to take us, I relented. Not only was everything absolutely delicious, but, most importantly, it was all homemade.
Generally speaking spring rolls I taste are good, but they’re served with the usually thai chili orange sauce - the commercial one you see everywhere. Biting into that crispy fried roll, I realized just how good it actually is, as well as how well it was made. Every bite was extremely crunchy because of the dough. Frozen ones generally have a little bit of crunch, but not with absolutely every bite. Not only that, but the sauces were phenomenal. Sweet with a little bit of spice.
The Ba Mee Moo Daeng, was delicious. Very flavorful broth, and the portion is absolutely tremendous.
For a business that’s only been around four months, I think they did a great...
Read moreWe got pad Thai and spring rolls. I'll start with the good, the spring rolls were very good and the sweet peanut sauce that comes with them is fantastic. The pad Thai however was very disappointing. Especially with the chef being from Bangkok. The cook tried, but did not accommodate our request to make our dish Thai hot. When I picked up the food to go, David told me she could not make it like that, but she added chili flakes. I'm sorry but I just don't understand why she couldn't do it. All Thai places have 1-5 level of spiciness to your desire. Aside from that the chef uses the wider noodle (same as pad see ew) instead of the skinny ones. This is not as big of a deal but then she added cabbage and carrots. Come on! I've never heard of cabbage in pad Thai. Maybe she ran out of bean sprouts--as they were omitted as well. Was it decent? I suppose, but it's not pad Thai!
Pic shows chili flakes on top. Not enough to make it Thai hot. It would of tasted better if the spice was tossed in the noodles and mixed...
