So, I hate to be the guy that kicks a place around and comes down on it just by association, and regrettably, I have to say, I've done that for years, and ultimately I robbed myself of the charm of Olive Garden. I suppose it's because I have an internal fear of becoming a suburbanite or just too regular. What can I say, I've flourished as an outcast. For years I have kind of made fun of the Olive Garden, not hatefully, but kind of a rib poking fun because it's just easy to make fun of. never had a bad experience, I just lumped it in with all the other chain restaurants that over expand and try to dominate every corner of the globe. I don't like the commercialism of it. I'm officially saying now that the Olive Garden is completely worth the trip. It's not terribly expensive, the portions are generous and no matter how easy is to compare it to the Applebee's of the world, it's far and away, an entirely different experience. If anything, at the least; that's my take on this location. Madison, was great as a server, nice, accomodating, and she did everything to a level of service far better than just about any other server I've had the pleasure dealing with. I like a cranky waitress just as much as anybody who can gnaw on a rubberized steak at a greasy spoon, but it's nice, every once in a while to feel like you're not pestering someone by asking for a refill, or just taking your sweet time to decide what you want to eat, which I often do. She was just great all around. As for the dish, pasta was cooked about as perfect as possible for thin pasta, which is typically overdone and sticky. Only negative criticism I have is, wait to mop the entryway until people have left. Not only are you asking for a slip and fall, but nobody wants to tip toe through mop water on the way out through...
Read moreSo I would like to say that as much as I dine here or do take out I am very disappointed in Olive Garden on July 26 I placed a order that came up to $73 dollars. I had a friend to pick it up for me and by the time they reach me and I got so excited to eat my pasta I then realized my order is not in the bag. I immediately called the store told the young lady what was wrong and she said okay let me get my manager. Okay. The manager gets on the phone and I begin to tell him my dilemma. I then say I'm heading up there I have the ticket and everything. He says I can't open my doors. You can't come in and I can't go out. So now I'm furious because not only did I pay my money for my food but this is my dinner and this is what I had the taste for. He still goes and says I can refund your money and give you a free one tomorrow. No. I want my dinner that I paid for. I told him I am to in customer service and have been for 18 years. I have also been a manager and it's our duty and job to satisfy the customer. I feel like he didn't do that. You don't know if I worked 14/16 hour shifts or if I was in the hospital or if that dinner was for my child. Fri. The gate you denied to even help instead of actually trying. I was so upset I wanted to cry. So I hope the District manager sees this because I have worked in restaurants and my GM Or DM would have said take care of...
Read moreMe and my husband took our kids here for a day out while visiting family in the area. My husband doesn’t speak English but our server Bexley happened to have no issues with taking his order in Spanish which was a pleasant surprise since I usually order and translate for him, she was very respectful and polite too, like we were at a more family friendly 5 star restaurant, my kids even wanted to order with her on their own. Our breadsticks were a little overcooked and dry but luckily we were brought fresh ones that were much better once they noticed we weren’t a fan. Our salad was good as well, and I enjoyed being able to try the different soups. Our favorite was the chicken gnochi soup, but I wish it did have more of the dumplings in because they were delicious. My husband said the broccoli on his meal was fresh and not soggy, like it is at most restaurants. I usually avoid Olive Garden because a lot of the time I feel like they miss the mark but we will probably be traveling here again just to eat at this location! It’s also very beautiful inside, the layout is charming and our hostess was very friendly (didn’t get her name but she had long pinkish hair and was very sweet to my kids). Probably one of our best chain restaurant experiences this year, great service and great food! Skip the Pooler location and come...
