Jackie Seafood Market — Restaurant in Savannah

The Garden City Jackie Seafood location cannot compare to this location. The Montgomery Xrds location is clean, and there are no flies, and no employees killing flies over their customers' food. Their selection is fresh, kept on ice, and in the display case. My main complaint is the lack of management of the crowds. There's a sign on the door stating that only 10 patrons at a time are allowed inside. Well...you know how people can be, especially when it comes to food. No surprise, one of the staff had to repeatedly ask people to step outside. And it DID get crowded. Still, in this age of coronavirus, people insist on invading your space and dare you to say anything about it. One woman decided she wanted to be my siamese twin, so I had to pointedly ask her to give me some space. So, I found myself placing my order, and waiting outside. The problem with that is, unless you are close to the door watching (and close to other people), you don't know when your food is ready. So, after what I thought was a reasonable amount of wait time, I reentered the establishment, risking getting yelled at to go back outside. Thankfully, I was only a few minutes off. All in all, not a very harrowing experience, but none I want to go through again any time soon. FOUR STARS for the food. ONE STAR for crowd management. Speaking of the food - everything was delicious. Our flounder was fried to perfection, and seasoned just right - not drowned in salt. Same for the oysters and the shrimp. I’ve been eating at this place for YEARS. Went in with my sister, and the person servicing us asked who was in line first out of us and the group behind us. We told her we were there first, and the owner told her to stop taking our order and take the people’s order behind us. I asked why since we were there first, and was told she doesn’t know, but her boss told her to stop. Shortly after another lady told her not to worry about us, and she would take our order. I asked her why did we have to wait to be serviced. She shrugged her shoulders and with an attitude said “mistakes happen but what can I get yall”! Of course I walked out! Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. I understand when a customer is irate and it can make the employees on edge but don't take it out on the customers that didn't have anything to do with what yall got going on already. Fish was old and no good and that's why the customer in front of us was irate and they had fresh fish in the back but chose to put the old fish out to try and sell which I'm sure they did after everyone left. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all savannah has plenty more...
