KFC — Restaurant in Savannah

I have tried for 5 days straight to go to KFC to get some grilled chicken for dinner after work each time I arrived it was a few minutes past 9 p.m . So I get to the window to place my order and as I complete my order I asked the drive-through cashier "before you ring me up are you sure you have grilled chicken?" It's a question I ask everytime just in case I have to wait for it to be cooked, Well needless to say the cashier replied yes we have grilled chicken. I pull around to pay for my order and the young man is taking some time to get my money so when he opens the window I look him in the face and say before he can "You don't have grilled chicken do you ?" He said no ma'am I said well I asked you that back there and you said yes he replied well the manager tells us we got to tell everybody yes. Okay so now I'm confused because what I left out of the story was I was a former employee of KFC which means I know the protocols to cooking chicken it was 9:15 they didn't close to 11 which means they would have had to cook at least another batch before they closed. He asked me did I want to order anything else I said no thank you I'll just go to the Garden City location before I can leave the parking lot I said to myself this has happened too many times this week I'm going to make them cook this chicken I go back through drive-thru tell him hey you can put that chicken in the grill it should take 17 minutes right? Being a KFC form employee I know that, He waits three minutes before he comes back to the intercom and says ma'am I'm sorry but our Grill is down for tonight it's being pressure cleaned. Again I have worked for KFC and I know neither Mary Luckett nor Emmett Hodges would think this is acceptable 5 times this week my money has been turned away. I stopped in on my way home from work on Monday, 3/25/2024@ 7:12 pm. I ordered a 12 piece family meal with 8 drumsticks original and 4 breasts extra crispy. I had to wait 10 minutes for the drumsticks which I didn't feel was too bad since I needed 8. When I got home (11 miles away), my husband got his drumsticks and I grabbed what was supposed to be a breast. Turns out it was a thigh. I don't like dark meat, that is why I ordered breasts. Was not happy last night, but thought at least Tuesday, I will have my breast when I get home. Well lucky me...there was only one breast and two more thighs. I'm very upset about this. No one in the house except the dog eats thighs. This has turned into some very expensive dog treats. This is not the first time they have given me the wrong pieces when I am very specific with the order and repeat it at least three times to make sure they understand. With the price of their meals, I expect to get what I ask for. Some advice to the workers....stay off your cell phone and pay attention to your customers. If you are out of what the customer has requested, let them know. Don't just substitute something else. I would have taken original breasts if they were out of extra crispy. I would have taken wings. 24 May ‘24 2:45 After my 5 star experience a month ago I thought I’d try it again. Today the chicken is not good. The mashed potatoes taste weird. Didn’t get the pieces of chicken I ordered and that really ticks me off. Didn’t get the dipping sauce I ordered. The biscuits look like a finger poked a hole thru the middle of each one. Straight in the garbage! The guy at the counter kept yawning and never once covered his mouth. There was another guy employee at a table fairly certain he was asleep. There was a guy putting the orders together, he’s the one that gave me the wrong pieces. There was one lady working the window and another lady standing around in the back. People should do the job they are paid to do and care about customers. Also this place is filthy - the windows, the doors, the counter, the floor, every where you look just greasy. Never going to this KFC ever again.

FIVE STARS 27 Apr ‘24 2:30 Best take out fried chicken I’ve had in years. Hot. Crispy. Delicious. Mashed potatoes and gravy and biscuits were really good too. They were out of honey sriracha so I got the Nashville hot sauce, very tasty. No complaints. Hardworking people here who obviously care about the food. Order online y’all...
