Awww man this about to get deep. So I have several instances in a two day span occurring on the 16th and 17th of April 2024.
On the 16th of April, I enter Smoothie King and order my usual Smoothie that I get as a meal replacement after the gym. As I'm waiting, an older woman is visibly frustrated and states "Excuse me, what is going on? Several people have ordered and left with Smoothies and I still haven't gotten my order" a heavy set employee explains in a indignant tone that the reason is because there was no ticket. To me that didn't make sense because if you took her money, she got a receipt and a ticket to make the order. I'm no stranger to this employee as her lack of customer service shows in every customer interaction she has. The customer asked the employee for her name and she refused to give it to her. The employee proceeded to disrespect a 70 year old woman. And it only perpetuated the stereotype that most black women especially the young immature ones lack accountability, decency, manners, or respect for others. She got her Smoothie bowl 12 minutes later.
On the 17th of April, I come to see a sign on the door saying "be back in 30 minutes". Note that there wasn't a time to base that off of. But, the fact that no Smoothie king that has operating hours should be closed during the operating hours. I attempted to call other Smoothie kings in the area with only one store picking up (pooler location) and asking where I could find the manager, in which I was told, they were at the Abercorn location (the first store I called with no response). I decided to call corporate and express the issues from the 16th and the 17th. By this time, more and more people were waiting for the store to open. Turns out the three workers were in the back the whole time. I sat waiting for 45 minutes so if the sign posted on the window said "be back in 30 minutes" with no indicator of when that time was, it's safe to say they were goofing off on company time earning free money doing no work. Well over an hour. By the time they unlocked the doors, the same 8 people that went in left as soon as they entered. When I went in, I wasn't greeted (no surprise) but was told that they are only doing online orders. I decided to call corporate again. I also took a photo because I noticed how the walls and floor looked the same as the day prior. Needless to say, I won't be visiting Smoothie King anytime soon. The lack of respect or customer service from the employees, the lack of access to a manager or supervisor shows that whoever operates or franchises the ogeechee and abercorn locations needs a serious overhaul in knowledge of the products, constant supervision (eyes on micromanagement) customer service, and respect for the patrons allowing the employees to earn a paycheck. Read moreI went to smoothie king and ordered a peanut power plus with strawberries, I did not know it had bananas in it. I left and started drinking it and did not like the taste, the bananas over powered the peanut butter I couldn’t taste it. I left work early went back to them, telling them the issue and asked if they can make it without the banana. The young man told me I’d have to pay for another and I should’ve looked at the menu before I ordered. Smoothie King you have a policy if the customer doesn’t like it it will be made over. So why did this young person tell me I had to pay 8.37 more for another smoothie that did not taste right to me. I’m used to going to the one on Abercorn I told him but being that this location is on my way to work I stopped here. He then tells me maybe I should’ve went there if they know me and know how I like my smoothie, really! The reason I stopped at this location is because it was on my way to work! I don’t argue with kids especially one that thinks they’re always right. I asked for the managers name and number and I will be calling in the morning! I did not come in asking for a refund, I asked if the smoothie be made without the banana. Read moreStopped to get me and my relative a smoothie today. Right when you walk in it smells awful like rotten fruit or whatever it stinks. Prepare counters to make smoothies is filthy, nasty, gross nothing is stocked. Workers never smile or greet you in a courtesy manner. Manager is most likely aware or just have a don’t care attitude but this establishment of Smoothie King should be shut down. Customers pay their money for something worth buying from a good establishment. I have went to others and this one is the worst they should take notes from others that are worth going to. Get staff that want to work and not these young ones that take a job for granted. Literally awful in there!!!!
