This is going to be a long story but I feel I need to share my opinion of being a past employee. I Had to quit after not working there for long at all because the managers were some of the worst people Iâve ever worked for. Unorganized, messy, rude, and just plain unqualified are only some of the names Iâd give this particular McDonaldâs location. After finally quitting such an awful and incompetent work place I asked for my check to which they replied they sent it back to corporate because I hadnât come in on pay day. (Mind you I told them the date of which check I was looking for multiple times). They then told corporate as I sat in the office for an hour that they had found my check and I quote âgave corporate approval that your check is in the restaurant.â I went there to pick it up, and was met with my rude ex bosses who looked at me with disgust as if to say âhow dare they come back here after quitting our âfineâ establishment.â I asked them about this weeks check, they said it wasnât there because we only get paid every other week. Why didnât they tell me this right off the bat instead of sending me to Pooler and then lying by saying they had it? Well the day I quit, I told some of my coworkers that they shouldnât be treated as I was being treated and they left with me. I had quit a day before and I was âaskedâ (felt like being told) to finish out my assigned hours. (Which was 8 hours everyday even though I had told them I could only work a few hours due to other obligations.) one of the more liked managers pleaded with me to stay and said âIâll change your hours and you can stay with usâ her compromise was still keeping me on 8-10 hours everyday on the weekend when I told them I canât do these hours anymore. I had enough of the rudeness that followed between making customers wait 2 hours for one burger and awful remarks to employees who are doing their absolute best in such a disoriented place of work. If you have the pleasure of meeting a woman named Nancy, be nice to her. She is the most wonderful person youâll ever meet. All the other people in charge donât bother with. I wish I could explain to you in words how awful that job treated me, but instead Iâll leave you with, go To the other McDonaldâs only 2 extra miles away. Itâs quicker, cleaner, and the managers are much more organized and considerate of its staff. Not to mention, the owner of this McDonaldâs saw me there frequently because they had me on relentless hours everyday and she even asked me âdo you ever go home?â Happy to say I now have time to eat at lunchtime when I never could before. My break was always late (it was a rare occasion when a friend of mine in the kitchen would even get his 30 min lunch break). They also never let the employees clock out on time. My first day they said it was a requirement to ask âis there anything you want me to do before I clock out?â There would ALWAYS be a strenuous and long task that theyâd assign you out of the blue just to keep you on longer. Not sure if this made sense as Iâm still pretty heated. Hope this could help someone. -anonymous and pissed off ex employee who will NEVER spend money at this...
Read moreI can deal with poor service if the food is good, but um...no. First they asked me to pull up to the first window and i watch the lady take out her cash register and walk away. I think, "oh they she is getting off work and they are sending another lady." Nine minutes later, after horns are honking behind me, a lady leans out the front window and motions me down. I drive up and she doesn't offer an apology or anything. I say, "what happened to the lady? Y'all told me the first window." She responds very nonchalantly, "oh yeah, I know. It was just time to close that window." "So she didn't go home - it wasn't time for her to get off work?" "No, she changed to over there." So to summarize, they just closed the register in the middle of a very busy time and just hung out for nine minutes while car horns blew behind me. So then she hands me the bag of food for my son (that just got out of the ER and hasn't been able to eat a meal all day because he feels horrible, and finally had an appetite and wanted some McDonald's as a treat), and my caramel frappe has caramel & whip cream running all down the side! I grab the napkins and attempt to wipe it off, and she is looking at me like I'm inconveniencing her for her making me a sticky drink?! Of course it is very sticky and doesn't come off completely, but she at least offers to throw my napkins away! No I'm sorry about that, my caramel got away from me! Again, I've handled all of this without attitude, because my son wanted some McDonald's and I'm sure after this long that it is going to taste great! Wrong! He wanted to try the bacon cheese fries (which he loves from Wendy's) and a few bites in he asks if he has to eat it. He tells me that it is cold, and cold fries and cheese don't taste good. I take a bite, and ugh! It is disgustingly cold! Then he tries his quarter pounder - the cheese is falling off the sandwich and very cold. The meat is hard. So all of that and he could only eat a few bites of that. Then my poor son apologizes to me that he couldn't eat it and he is still hungry! So I pulled into a taco bell to get him some more food - when does taco bell out trump a McDonald's?! Horrible,...
Read moreI don't take the time to write out reviews often but this one definitely needed to be noted. Do I arrive in the drive through of the McDonald's around 7:15 (give or take a few minutes). When I got up to the speaker box I was greeted by a very unenthusiastic employee who I had to repeat my order to twice due to her not listening. Ok. I can look past that. I never really get great customer service EVER going to McDonald's. So I finally got the order placed and proceeded about 5 more feet then came to a complete standstill. Where we all sat for at least ten minutes. Moved one more car length where we sat for another maybe 5-10 minutes. I had finally reached the payment window (I was already irritated by this wait time) where the woman confirms my order tells me my total and takes my payment. No apology for the wait, or thanking me for my patience, or even a drop of kindness. I manage a restuarant. I understand that the kitchen could get overwhelmed with a large order or a sporadic rush, but as the people who deal with the customers face to face, they need to improve on their customer service big time. Now after that window and being in that short line for almost 20-25 minutes, the only thing that kept me somewhat calm was thinking that by time we got up there, our 3 happy meals would have been completed and just ready to hand off to us. Nope. Got to the window where some man asked me what my order was so he could run around and get it put together. After 20+ minutes they hadn't bothered to prepare anyone else's meals or even drinks for their order. We proceeded to sit at that window for another 5-10 minutes waiting on our three happy meals. When they finally got us our food (it was a manager who handed us our food) once again.. not one single "Thank you so much for your patience/understanding" or a simple "I apologize for the wait" . We sat in the drive through from 7:15 and did not leave until 7:49pm. We definitely will not be going back to that location and I hope that they will work on major improvements within that...
