Updated from previous experience: After an initial visit that left much to be desired due to an overly long wait and a lack of communication from the staff, I was hesitant to give this restaurant another try. However, I decided to return for a second visit because the owner cared enough about the review I left and asked for a second try. I'm delighted to report that this visit was a complete turnaround.
The pizza, which was the star of the show, was absolutely amazing— certainly a top contender in Savannah. The quality of the ingredients and the perfect bake set it apart, making it a memorable meal.
Service saw a significant improvement. Despite a mix-up with our order of wings, the staff handled it with grace, informing us ahead of time and offering the mistakenly prepared wings, which, turned out to be a delightful surprise and we enjoyed them better than our actual order. Their proactive approach and attentiveness made a huge difference, enhancing the dining experience.
The ambiance remained as inviting as before, maintaining the great vibes that make the setting enjoyable. Additionally, the beer selection continued to impress, matching the high quality of the food.
I would rate my second experience a 4.5 out of 5. The improvement in service and the quality of the food were clear indicators that the restaurant values its customers and is committed to making amends for past mistakes. Based on this visit, I'm not only looking forward to returning but also eager to bring friends along for the experience.
It's reassuring to see a restaurant take feedback seriously and strive to improve. The delicious pizza, improved service, and positive atmosphere have certainly changed my perspective, and I'm glad I gave them a second chance. Original post: Not sure what is going on but over an hour and a half for two pizzas and it never came. It was this way with everyone. Many others cancelled their orders as well. Not a single server came to acknowledge the situation or give us an explanation or timeline. We ended up cancelling our order after almost two hours total and grabbed fast food. Although the beer was good, we will not come back. This poor service is why restaurants get shut down. Such a simple menu that should facilitate a much faster process. We have never walked out on a...
Read moreI keep trying this place bc it’s right around the corner but they seem to let me and my friends down every time. 4 tries and I think this past one is my last. All four times I’ve been, there’s always something, usually multiple things that they are “out of” on the menu. I think the beer selection is pretty good. The pizzas I don’t recommend. I’m not sure if it’s the sauce or cheese they’re using but no one at my table wanted to finish their basic margarita pizza. Reminded me of something rather cheap and frozen even though it came from the oven so not sure what’s going on there. The mixed drinks are pretty good although I’ve never tasted any alcohol in them… again, not sure what’s going on but none of us could taste any liquor and after 3 drinks we decided to save our money… This past visit (my last), I ordered the peach bbq wings and a server drops onto the table plain wings and let’s me know, “sorry there’s no bbq sauce,” AFTER cooking them and handing to me (making it super duper awkward). Management - please let your servers know to let their customers know BEFOREHAND when you’re out of something. Always. Don’t just hand them an incomplete meal that they didn’t order, like “take it or leave it this is all we have.” That’s basic restaurant 101 (and yes I worked service industry for 10 years). Lastly, I know roaches are inherent to Savannah so I I’m not that judgy about them, but after being handed plain wings that were not good, being served expensive, weaker than weak pours, seeing the roach crawling up the back wall was too much….I believe this place has lots of potential, it just seems to need some solid management and quality control/stocking oversight. I think this place survives bc of its convenience but there’s not much else it currently has going for it. Super bummer bc it’s so close and could...
Read moreUnderwhelmed and disappointed. Didn’t realize this joint was so informal. Wasn’t expecting to order via QR code, I didn’t mind, but it would’ve been nice to scan the code off of an actual clean table. All they had was sign out side saying you could sit anywhere you’d like, but I didn’t see any employees manning the area to make sure it was hospitable. It’s a shame, because it really was a beautiful day out. Maybe I should have sat at the bar where you can get more personalized service, but neither I or my mother wanted to drink, so we wouldn’t have wanted to take up two seats there. Our charcuterie board took forever to arrive, which seems strange for a tray with just some meats and cheeses put on it. The spread was a good value for $22, but it was a turn off to eat some really nice charcuterie with to go silverware (!!!) and flimsy paper boats/plates. After spending that kind of money on a meal, It’s surprising that they don’t offer real silverware. I think what really turned me off about my experience though was the heavy metal music playing over the speaker, and the woman at the table next to us who was smoking multiple cigarettes. We asked if smoking was allowed on the patio, and I guess it is, which was strange to me considering there were MANY children around, including babies.
Edit: I am very disappointed in the owners response. It is completely unprofessional to mock and make assumptions about a persons lifestyle just because they did not enjoy their experience somewhere. It is clear many people have enjoyed this establishment, but the level of immaturity it must have taken to choose to respond in such a demeaning manor….it would have been much more professional to attempt to reach out personally to a dissatisfied guest, as I have seen you do in previous reviews. Best wishes on your future...
