Alliger's House of Wings — Restaurant in Sayre

Firstly, I have never actually eaten a meal here, so I don't have anything to say about the dining experience. This review is all about ordering sauces for home-cooked wings.

So anyway, my family has been ordering shipments of Alliger's wing sauce for about thirty years now. A family friend in Michigan introduced my parents to the Kamikaze sauce back in the 90's, and we've been loyal customers ever since. I was about 5 years old back then, and my parents still order Alliger's sauce to this day. I have so far seen shipments to three different states and two different overseas military addresses, and the sauce quality has never dropped or changed.

As soon as I left home, it was my turn, and I'm ordering their sauce now in my 30's. The Kamikaze (hot), Garlic (mild), and Singapore (medium-ish) sauces are my personal favorites, in order of gold to bronze. They're obviously stellar on wings, but Kamikaze is also great as a richer kind of Tabasco replacement for sour Asian soups, and Garlic doubles an amazing mixer to create garlicky dipping sauces (Garlic + ranch dressing = happiness). The individual bottles are also fun to give away as small gifts to friends and family.

Recently, though, I ran out of Kamikaze--my go-to sauce--and went to order online, but found that the online store was unavailable. I may have panicked a bit, but after sending an email to the contact address posted on their website (which I swear hasn't changed for over 15 years), I learned that the online store was being redone, and Jen was kind enough to take my shipping address and let me order through email instead. The crazy part, though, is that I received the sauce just two days after I sent my address and sauce request. Apparently, they shipped the package (UPS Ground) before I even had a chance to see the PayPal invoice!

Although I only live a few tiny New England states away, I was still bewildered to receive a surprise sauce box of joy in the mail just a day after paying for the order. My order arrived double-boxed, with the smaller box nicely cushioned within the larger box and cardboard dividers between the 12 bottles, and in pristine condition. Their customer service has always been good when ordering sauce, but this experience was absolutely worth throwing them a long and glowing Google review.

I love this place. I love their sauces. Hopefully, my own children will be fortunate enough to keep this family tradition alive in the future. Thanks Alliger's, for literal generations of tasty sauce and excellent...

We met with friends on her Birthday, it was her place of choice, Birthday gal makes her choice. It was a Friday keep that in mind. We arrived the parking was tight, many pickup orders we seen. We ordered drinks, fairly quick to get us our drinks, my wife had water with lemon and I had a shot of Titos and water. I ordered a loaded burger / fries and the wife had a fish sandwich and fries. Took awhile to get our food but it was fine we had time to chat with friends. They both ordered their favorite wings & I didn't tell them I do these reviews. My burger arrived after 20+ minutes keep in mind it was 5:30 on a Friday night. Hmmm my burger was not rare / medium rare it was overcooked in my opinion, I was not asked upon ordering the rest was fine the fries are excellent. K fish was fine, I cannot say it was the best, we had better at similar pricing but it was still a very good Friday fish sandwich. The prices are reasonable in my opinion and yes I would stop here again without a doubt. The noise lever was not bad considering the place was packed. Alliger’s “Leprechaun’s Revenge” wing flavor is spicy!!!

And it’s not just a normal spicy…

It is SO spicy… that in ages to come the host of heaven and earth will pause at Sayre, PA just to declare… “There once was a great restaurant here that knew how to cook up a TRUE spicy”

The flavor is phenomenal, too!! It’s not just heat, the taste is wonderfully rich.

For those wondering, I asked a server about the Leprechaun’s Revenge flavor, and she informed me that these wings are rated at 1 Million Scoville Heat Units (but anecdotally, I find that Alliger’s “Leprechaun’s Revenge” tastes spicier than some similarly rated foods)

Spiciness aside, Alliger’s is the best “wings” restaurant I’ve ever been to. If you are in the area, definitely stop here and eat!! They also have many milder flavors of various kinds, for those who don’t like too much spiciness (and there is a HUGE jump in heat from the second spiciest to the spiciest flavor)
