This was our first visit to Camillo's and we were completely impressed. We went on a Friday night around 5:30 PM. We called to make a reservation because we know they get busy...whenever we drive by, the place is always packed. When we walked in, the amazing aromas quickly engulfed us. We were seated right away and could have forgone the reservation...but come 6:30-7:00 PM...the place gets BUSY! If you plan to go at 6:30 or later...make a reservation.
The waitress greeted us with a smile and asked if we wanted drinks. We told her it was our first time there and she was thrilled. She made us feel very comfortable and seemed truly interested in making our visit nice. We gave her our drink order and off she went.
As we sat there, we noticed two bus girls continually "sweeping" the restaurant. They were looking for empty plates, empty drinks, people in need of anything. They were "covert" but always around if you needed anything.
The wait staff is truly and completely professional. There is no goofing around. There is no gaggle of wait staff chit chatting. They know how to do what they do, and they do it well. Our waitress' name was Sam and she works Wednesday and Saturday nights :)
As my husband was trying to figure out what to order, the food arrived for the table next to us. He had wanted the grilled flank steak with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, but saw the amazing looking spaghetti and meatballs that arrived. He ended up getting the flank steak and a side of meatballs to try. I ordered the shrimp carbonara. For dessert we had cheesecake and tartufo. Every, single thing we ate was AMAZING and DELICIOUS!!
You need to eat here!! So thankful it is right down the street from...
Read moreI'm not sure where to begin. My wife drives past this establishment every day on her way home from work. She mentioned it to me one day and suggested we give it a try. I feel so foolish that I never new about this restaurant and it is just ten minutes from home. This place is a gem. The food is absolutely delicious here! The menu is extensive and prices are fair. They offer veal, chicken,, seafood and beef pasta dishes. Servings are very generous and the food was prepared perfectly. On top of all that,, they also offer pizza. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse. OMG! It was light, decadent and not too sweet.. There is a bar with a large variety of alcoholic beverages including beer. Our server Jamie, was very attentive and friendly. The dining area is large and spacious. You don't feel like you're sitting on top of the diners. With COVID concerns, social distance dining is not an issue. The restaurant is clean and simply decorated. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner's son Alex, who introduced himself to us and all of the employees are very friendly. Everyone genuinely wanted to know we had a pleasant dining experience. We will be back with friends and family. We highly recommend this...
Read moreWe had a lovely dinner at Camillo's, starting with warm bread and a delicious garlic oil dip -- a great first impression. The crab cake appetizer and garlic shrimp were both tasty, and having pitchers brought to the table was a thoughtful touch that made service feel smooth and welcoming.
Our main courses didn't disappoint either -- from the Chicken Francese to the Chilean sea bass, Porterhouse steak, seafood combo, and grilled chicken Caesar, everything was well-prepared and flavorful. The salads were fresh and nicely presented.
The only downside to the evening was the seating arrangement. We were placed in the same room as a large party, which made it quite noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation. It also made us feel a bit out of place, especially since we were dressed casually compared to the more formal event guests.
Overall, the food and service were great, but a quieter table would have made the experience even better. Would definitely return -- just maybe on a less eventful night. Also the main room was empty and while dining others were seated there, the lost star was in...
