Santino's Pizza — Restaurant in Sayreville

This review is based on service my husband and and I received on 6/19/25 at approx. 6:45pm. My husband and I have been stopping here for a slice of pizza every Thursday night for the past few weeks. We usually sit at the table and eat for about 10 mins and then leave. Everyone is usually very nice, until this fateful eve.

When we arrived, there were approximately five open tables in the dining area. We ordered one One slice Of pizza And proceeded to sit at the first empty table. The table was unset and had no napkins or utensils. We did not care because we were literally going to be there for five minutes before leaving.

A Man behind the counter literally told us, that the tables are reserved for people coming in to order dinner so that the waitress can make tips. He said that we cannot sit there to eat a slice of pizza. Because they have to leave the tables available for parties ordering sit down meals As he was concerned that their waitress needs to make tips.

Unheeding this person’s request, I got my pizza and sat down to eat it. All four additional tables remained empty while I was there.. Even though I did not utilize the services of the waitress, I left her a dollar so she could make a tip for the five minutes I sat to eat my slice of pizza.

Before leaving, I expressed my feelings about the rudeness And audacity of the man behind the counter To suggest that if only ordering a slice of pizza, You must take it to go To leave tables open in the dining area For Larger groups of people who will spend more money than myself. I have never been treated this way in any pizza establishment. I will not be returning here due to being an unwelcomed, paying customer. Shame on Santino‘s for creating an atmosphere of greed...

Lov it here mangia my family has been going all my life since I was a kid. Been loyal customers through everything 2 fires covid eveytime they closed we always came back.. hope they never close.. Bring back xlarge pizza .wish it was open 11 pm every nite . Lol. Everything is gud here soup salad chicken parm the best. Pasta bolonese is great 👍 hot antipasta lov shrimp oregano great sausage sauce meatballs subs . I think mussels only thing I didn't like. Lasagna gud. Wld lov a tour of Italy or best of Santino s 3 things lasagna chicken parm stuffed shells eggplant parm all gud. Need garlic bread again. Lov cannoli.wld lov stuffed pizza. Or salad bar. Family meals. Gelato. More fish. Lobster crab cakes frutti dimare.wld lov that. Or more regional Italian it's mostly great southern Italian food . Prices went up a bit but still gud. Wish they had tv more seating. Gud delivery. U can't miss at Santinos it has everything u need great pizza pasta and dinner classics . Sauces r great. It brings back memories of family Italian food from around the neighborhood u just can't beat it. I cld never forget Santinos restaurant we hav loved it for yrs and always reminisce about the pizza everywhere we go we compare it to Santinos. Lol.when I go to other states u can't get gud Italian food or pizza believe it or not. I missed nj Italian food the best. It's a nj thing we all eat Italian food and make it at home . Italian food brings family together u eat u laugh and u lov. Santinos will always be...

I know. It's a pizza place but I really like the description of the new Asian salad that is supposed to include mixed baby greens, sliced Asian pears, candy pecans, sesame seeds, cilantro and Gorgonzola cheese served with an orange ginger dressing.... So I ordered it and added grilled shrimp with the dressing on the side. I also ordered the pasta fagioli soup. I took away two stars for two very good reasons. One, the salad was missing the candied pecans, the sesame seeds and the cilantro. That being said, it was still delicious. That dressing is phenomenal and the shrimp are cooked perfectly. The Gorgonzola wasn't too pungent and had the right amount. The greens were fresh and my dressing was on the side as requested. The soup, on the other hand, is the worst tasting pasta fagiolli I've ever had. It's so bland that I can't wait until tomorrow to put it back on the stove and add my own seasonings. (I think it's salt free) The vegetables are also chopped too large and the pasta should always be kept on the side even if you're packing it to go. It was definitely overcooked.

Pricing is overall good and I didn't have to use a company like Uber eats. I like be able to just call and get it delivered. It came in record time so a plus for that.

I would just say work on your soup and definitely make sure you have all the ingredients in your dishes that you list...
