ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! To truly capture the excellence of this place we have to start with the atmosphere. Outside was beautiful with an area you can sit outside, but inside was the magical part. Tables were beautifully arranged with beautiful napkins, wine, silverware, and wine glasses, beautiful hanging lights, soft comfortable chairs, and a nice blend between natural and atmospheric light! We ordered the special unlimited meats and received a card to put up to signal the cooks we wanted the food to keep coming and when put down you got a break. And let me tell you! The food had a large array ranging between steaks, bacon wrapped chicken, parm pork chops, and that was only the beginning! Servers were at a constant rotation and extremely attentive! We didn’t have to wait a second for anything, and allergies/requests were paid attention to for every dish and drink. Over the salad bar was a list of ingredients which really simplifies getting food if you have a lot of allergies or dietary restrictions! As far as temperature I ordered both medium rare and blue for the steaks/ meat. The flavor was excellent perfectly seasoned with a beautiful smoky taste that paired excellent with the food. As for sides, I couldn’t get enough. The plantains tasted like a warm cinnamon coated banana and the bread was buttery, soft, and lightweight! I got a type of sauce to put on top of the bread (forgot the name) and it truly paired excellent. (Something with a C). I stuck to sprite but my mother ordered a coconut lime drink that she says “surpassed her high set expectations”. Now onto the desert they had such a large variety to choose from but I settled for a lava cake and I did not just eat it I consumed it within seconds. The warmth from the brownie like cake (which was fluffy and gooey in the inside) paired with the cool whip cream and cold soft serve ice cream truly created an experience on my tongue. They blended together so well I thought about ordering another! As for customer service I have yet to find a restaurant in Chicagoland area with service like this. Nonstop smiles, a home atmosphere, constant rotation of foods and servers tending to you, fresh food and flavors, and personal table visitations from the owner. If you want to enjoy your food and not just “eat” this restaurant pairs perfectly atmosphere, flavor, customer service, and quality together. 10/10 recommend!! I was too busy devouring food to get many pictures but trust me and go you won’t regret it! (Side note: Sam was our server and...
Read moreHonest to god this is my first review I have ever written. I just got home now, we usually have gone to Texas De Brazil but that had such a long wait and we (my mom and I) decided to give this place a try for my birthday dinner. Once we walked in, I informed them with no pork items and they said okay. So, we got up went to the salad bar which was one of the only edible things in the entire place (something they did right). . Then the meat started rolling in, first guy who stopped by I told him please just well done meat. They came back after back supplying me with medium well meat. One guy said well.. "that's the closest as it could be.. I'm sure of it". I kept quiet. Then came the chicken breast without pork that tasted like pork.. when I ended up just having it in my mouth I could tell it tastes funny it honestly tasted like pork. I went up and tried talking to the manager, his response was "that's the only chicken breast we do here". Then came more meat... which was actually "well done" at the time. Their version of "well done" meat is: burned and just full of fat. I could not even bite into the pieces they gave me, and if I was able to it was all FAT. I spoke to one of the server's that how we usually go to Texas De Brazil and how I'm upset with the quality of meat here.. like come on it has good reviews that's the only reason why I came here. His response was: "I'm working for you, so I understand". I just hate how they assumed I never had well done meat before, he kept telling me the meat is softer when it's medium well. Well, gues what? That's not how they do it at Texas De Brazil. This was a terrible way to end a Birthday. I will never return here. So disappointing. If I would give it 0 stars I could.. the food is just sitting in my stomach unpleasantly.
Just for summarization: Service was absolutely terrible (never got a clean plate for the meat, until asking 3 people.. and no one wanted to even get or take our check when we were over, and our server came back to our table only once to refill our water.. he looked pissed off that we only wanted water.. and better yet the manager was sitting in the corner of the store instead of approaching us asking what's wrong) Their salad bar and pineapples were the only thing they did "right" in their entire store Their meat is FULL of FAT...
Read moreWe went to Brazil Express excited by the potential this restaurant had but it didn't quite live up to expectations. I've been to Fogo and Texas de Brazil and a couple other Brazilian steak houses. They all seem to offer a similar experience with an expansive salad bar with many delectable treats and waiters who bring skewers of a selection of 10 or so different fire grilled meats to your table and slice it for you at the table. While Brazil Express attempted to deliver this experience, it fell short for me. The salad bar at other places comes off exotic but Brazil Express was fairly average and considering price, I wouldn't come in just for their salad bar. Normally, the salad bar holds a multi-visit attraction for me. I made one trip and only filled 1/2 of a plate. Nothing drew me back for a 2nd visit. The meats served were good although, some of the cuts I felt were surprisingly tough. And, lastly, I don't know what was up with the servers but they frequently passed our table without stopping to offer a selection of meat they had. I am a big guy and it felt like my consumption was being silently regulated. I wasn't pigging out so, I'm not sure why. The whole reason you pay an upfront high price for a dinner such as this is to try small portions of everything. We sat near the exit from the kitchen area and 5-6 times skewers of meat walked right past our table...attended to other parts of the restaurant and then returned to the kitchen without stopping to offer my wife and I anything. There's a green go card that stays visible at your table telling the waiters to keep bringing meat. My plate sat empty while I waited for someone to venture near enough to us and provide more, but it just didn't happen. It was disappointing. I've never had that happen at any of the other restaurants of this type that I've been to. My wife and I only got to experience 75-80% of what was offered and we missed a few cuts as I watched them head back into the kitchen. Some might say I should have asked, but I shouldn't have had to...our green card was up. We were inviting them back to our table and they ignored us. Next time I want this type of meal, I'll spend the $9 or $10 more for the place that takes care of their customers and make the...
