I came here a few times for breakfast and loved it so I finally wanted to give dinner a shot. My dinner came with a salad the portion size was great for a side salad. I was not happy about every piece of lettuce in my bowl was wilted or brown. They talk about having and using the freshest ingredients not the case here. I’m a server and I saw the lettuce like that my common sense would not let me bring that to my table. When I told my server she said oh where did that come from?? Really ma’am we aren’t going to play dumb here, she did bring me a new salad. I ordered the pasta primavera it sounded delicious and looked delicious. The menu says veggies with an oil and garlic sauce after taking a bite there was a gross taste almost like they added an orange zest or lemon zest. Tastes like the orange glaze that comes on one of their burgers. I didn’t touch the pasta now as a server that should be a big sign to you that there’s a problem nope not with my server. She came asked if I wanted a box I said no you can take it it has a gross taste and I explained to her and she once again wanted to act so dumb and made me feel like I was a problem and said oh you should have said something and I would have had made them make you something else. Why not now what’s the problem?? She did take it off the bill not happy my daughter got charged for an adult size drink do they not have kid sizes doesn’t come with the kids meal?? The bill isn’t very detailed at all, at the bottom it says cash amount and credit card amount so apparently if you use a credit card they charge you more that’s fine but they need to tell you that or have it posted somewhere just not throw it at someone when they get the bill. I paid with a debit card and got charged extra after doing research I read Illinois prohibits this charge when using debit cards it’s only for credit cards. Cash and debit cards are the same when it comes to what they are doing so really what they are doing is illegal. I asked my server what it is for and she said oh you are paying the fee to use your card was very short. So after all that I’m not happy and don’t know if I would want to go back if my experience will be like that again. I’m sorry if little mom and pop restaurants don’t charge you that ridiculous fee you shouldn’t either....
Read moreI'm so glad we stopped here for breakfast! We ate here during a busy Saturday breakfast rush, but we were seated immediately. From the outside, you wouldn't know that the dining room here is quite large. Our server greeted us and took our drink order within a minute of sitting down and she was back with our coffee just as fast. We had to take some time with the menu because everything sounded so good. My husband loves potato pancakes, so he ordered the potato pancake Platter. They were not like any he had had before. These were like a fried mashed potato that created a great crispy golden shell. He really liked them. I tried the Sweet Orange French Toast. It was so pretty when it came to the table! The French Toast was very good, but I don't think the orange sauce was a great match for it. Our kids didn't finish their Pancakes and Strawberries, so I added those to my plate of orange sauce and it was SO FLIPPIN GOOD! The combination of the orange sauce, strawberries, and pancakes was perfect. And before our kids got full, they said these were the best pancakes they've ever had in a restaurant, which is huge praise from our pancake lovers. Also, I have to mention that the coffee runs here are fantastic! There was a server around every few minutes to check in with a fresh pot asking if we wanted a warm up. If it's not obvious by now, I definitely recommend this place. The only very thing I didn't absolutely love was the noise. There are panels hung to help absorb some of it, but with a dining room so large, I understand that it's hard to avoid. I just wanted to mention it for those who might have sensitivities or an aversion to that kind...
Read moreFood was decent. I got the steak chilaquiles. The wait to get a table wasn't long. But to get service was a quite a bit of time. The place was super busy when I arrived so understood they'll be longer wait times. The waitress that attended us was friendly and nice. I already knew in advance food was going to take a while due to the amount of people. After I arrived there was a line to wait for a table. I arrived about 8-9am after 11am people were waiting outside the door for a table. They do have pastries, Mediterranean options (small options), mexican options, American typical breakfast options and a lot of beverages like for coffees, smoothies etc. The waitress was very nice and friendly but we did take a while to get attended and also to receive the bill approx like 10-15 min wait. She didn't check up on us often but I understood because of the amount of people inside the establishment. The food was good. But I did notice my steak 🥩 tasted really like refrigerated it tasted like if I can taste the freezer of some sort but it was still tender and pretty juicy. The green sauce they used was great for the chilaquiles. It was authentic but it could've been a lil spicy. It wasn't spicy at all. Their coffee beverage are very good and look awesome when prepped. Their lemonade is highly recommended. They have a huge menu of items to choose from and so many combinations to do with pancakes and drinks etc. it is a very nice establishment. I would like to go back again but when less busy. I do not recommend going on a Sunday unless ur going super early in the day. You will be waiting for a long time. But it is...
