The great thing about Moretti's is that it doesn't change from location to location. The layouts may be different, but it's really the same kind of place: tables for dining, bar area, TV displaying sports games, outdoor patio area. And it's an old style bar type design with dark wood tables and chairs, dark carpet, dark walls, etc.
Our server seemed nervous and maybe it was her first days on the job. She took our order, but forgot some things and had to return to ask questions. There was a bug in my wife's water (not a big deal) so we asked to replace it. The server left it on our table and we had to ask her a couple more times before she brought back a clean one.
We both got salads. I got a side caesar and my wife got the barbecue ranch. She asked for additional dressing and pretty much finished her salad before more dressing was delivered.
I ordered the classic cheeseburger. I came with lettuce and pickles (no tomatoes - ick!) and I added mustard. The bun was slightly toasted so as not to absorb the juice from the meat and become a soggy mess. American cheese is the perfect cheese for a burger as it doesn't split when it melted and didn't here. The lettuce and pickles were crisp. The meat was seasoned and was a perfect paddy. It was clearly a preformed paddy. It was a tasty burger.
My better half got a deep dish hot giardinaira pizza. We had to tell the server that she wanted the crust well done She asked if she wanted it burnt. We said no, we wanted it crispy. Once it came out, it was good.
Though, the server never checked on us, never brought refills unless we reached out and called her over to ask for them. However, she was johnny on the spot when delivering our check and taking payment. She even brought a take home container for the leftover pizza that was clearly too small. We asked for a pizza box, and she said, oh yeah, that makes more sense. Well, duh.
The food is good, the atmosphere great for families and getting good pizza, hanging with friends and family. The service is just okay. Nothing is exceptionally special, just okay. And if you're looking for something consistent, but okay service, then Moretti's...
Read moreI was on the other side of the table with the large party on 5/19 with Carmen V. I'm going to break down my review in separate parts.
FOOD 3/10 I was disappointed at the lack of vegan options. I couldn't get any pasta because it had eggs and the marinara sauce apparently contains dairy. Nick did go back to the kitchen to ask about the pasta, though. Instead, I just ordered fries and broccoli. I paid $3.49 for 5 pieces of broccoli. So yeah. My uncle had about the same amount of broccoli as well so that's I guess the standard.
SERVER 4/10 Nick started off well for me individually, with him going to the kitchen about the pasta. But pretty much after that, he was flustered and inattentive. I felt sorry for him because he was clearly overwhelmed, but his work honestly barely warranted a 4/10.
MANAGEMENT - MARY KATE 1/10 I really interacted mainly with her at the end of my meal. She said company policy was that 18% tip automatically be applied to our table. However, I had an issue paying a $5.57 tip for $6.98 worth of food and flat out refused to do that. After watching her argue/debate with my cousin and her partner about an appetizer, I presented my issue to her. She again debated this with me as well for a few minutes, identified herself as a manager, and only took all receipts back after I mentioned my plans to complain to the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I'm not complaining to BBB is that she eventually resolved the issue and suddenly came out with new receipts, where the tip was not there and suddenly the appetizer was taken off of someone's ticket. However, this process took at least ten minutes, if not longer, of her debating with customers. That's unacceptable.
OVERALL 7/30=~1/5 We still celebrated my cousin's graduation together and had an enjoyable time. But 0% of it was due...
Read moreIf I could give the restaurant 0 stars I would. We came here for my daughter's High School graduation with a party of 15, we spent over $200 on the bill, our calamari and mozzarella sticks were cold as if they were just sitting under a heat lamp. When we complained that not only our appetizers were cold, but that they came out with our food (isn't it called appetizer for a reason?) we were told by Nick our server that the kitchen was backed up (you should never blame anything on your coworkers), he never mentioned this to us prior. He said he would get the manager for us, but the manager never came to talk to us. Nick informed us he would take the appetizers off the bill (only one appetizer was removed). I then asked if they could remove the other appetizer, they said they could'nt remove it. When I asked for the manager Mary Kate said he had already left. So who handles issues when the manager leaves?? I just felt that for the large party we had and the amount of money we spent removing $9.99 off the bill should not have been an issue. Our server never asked us how things were, we had to ask for extra napkins 4 times before we finally got them. We finally got the appetizer taken off the bill after arguing with Mary Kate and Nick for about 15 minutes. There were other exchanges with them and the other half of my party, hopefully they will also leave a review. What ever happened to the customer being right? Customer service in general? We will definitely not be back.
*To the owner, yes I did! Also on open table!
6/2/19: Its been 2 weeks and I have not heard back from the owner, I also emailed a manager listed on the website. Good customer service would be to follow up with customer, rather than letting it go, without...
