We visited this place as we've done for years to order food and got there around 2:15 (they close at 2:30 on that day of the week).
They refused to serve us telling "We can't serve you because we are closed so we can wash plates." This was even though it clearly states on the front door that they are open until 2:30 that day.
Since we've been customers for around 6 years we went back to let them know how disappointed we were with the treatment only to be told that "It's our policy" by one of the guys that prepares the food - One thing to note was that the complaint wasn't even being made to him but to another gentleman that works there (probably an asst manager or something similar).
I've usually gone there because of my family who used to love their food, but there's no food that's so delicious that the establishment fails to recognize it's long standing customers and just the fact that when a customer brings a complaint to your attention it's because they want to be fair and let you i.e. the establishment know so you can fix things.
The other alternative is not to tell them and go and tell everyone else.
Either way, this family will not be going there anymore and will certainly not recommend it to any people we know and want to ensure they have a great time at a sushi restaurant, because if they happen to arrive just before Sushi Ya closes, they will be...

It feels very misleading for loyal customers to look at your menu and see the name of the exact same role that the previous owners made famous, and order it only to find it didn’t taste good. I’m not a fish expert. I don’t know how fresh fish is or what grade or quality of fish you use or what’s best. All I can tell you is it tasted bad and all three of us agreed and we threw half of the hundred dollar order in the garbage.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We have been ordering the Fire Crunch Maki roll from this place for 15 years. This is the first time we have ordered since the new change in ownership and the Fire Crunch Maki roll is awful. Fishy tasting crab, no tempura crunch and just plain bad. Smoked Salmon is mediocre. The sushi was awesome as Sushi Ya. So disappointed. My eat anything 21 year old said it is edible and just barely better than grocery...
Read moreTypically, we order take out from a different nearby sushi place. The one we most frequently went to recent closed, and our backup is closed on Wednesdays, so we decided to try Sushi En again. We have a pretty standard, basic sushi order we place across any place we try, and we've gotten pretty used to our order costing around $50-$55 for the three of us. Here at Sushi En, the order was $75! The sticker shock really threw me. In the end, all of the rolls from here were about $1 extra compared to other places, and the cucumber rolls were literally twice the price. That adds up quickly.
The sushi we had was fine, but tasted the same as any other place, so unless you're going to get the really extravagent rolls offered here, there really wasn't anything to justify huge price difference, so we probably won't come back. The staff was very sweet though, so no problem with them. I just can't continuously afford regular sushi at luxury...
