Randomly found this place on google while in the area. Put in a search for buckwheat pancakes and they came right up with good reviews, plus they are an extension of the original pancake house that I have been enjoying in Chicago. Turned around and drove 20 minutes back to this place from I355. Get there and they tell me I can sit wherever I want so I choose a spot at the bar. I believe my sisters name was Michael, he comes up and asks if I am ready to order and I say yes. I inquire about the buckwheat pancakes and he says he doesn’t know how they taste because they changed the recipe, I thought that was strange but I figured I’d give it a shot anyway along with an order of chicken sausage links. Btw all the other original pancakes house have skillets but this place doesn’t fit. Order came out quick (5-10) minutes. Immediately I noticed the pancakes are relatively small and thin. The sausage I immediately noticed was dry as if it was cooked on a flat top with no oil. My waiter walks off and I don’t see him until he gives me my bill at the end of my meal I had to flag people down for extra syrup and water. The buckwheat pancakes taste like faint blueberry pancakes, the chicken links were dry and chewy. Again I didn’t see my waiter until my check came, never asked me how things were or if I needed anything else. I get to the cashier and the young lady asks me how my dining experience was and I said horrible and I mentioned everything above to her on top of the fact that I didn’t see my waiter at all while I was eating. She asks me if there is anything that she could do, I didn’t know how to answer that question because typically restaurants will comp you a certain percentage off your bill or offer to remake your food but they usually figure it out on their own. I replied and said I am not really sure how you guys can make it right but I am open to suggestions. I give her my card and charges me full price and says well I hope you have a wonderful day. I’m scratching my head as I walk out because they had every opportunity to make this transaction right but failed multiple times. The food here is not great I would stay away from this place. They don’t make omelets fresh they bake them and they don’t taste so...
Read moreThe food is always excellent, eggs on point, best pancakes I've ever had at a chain, they're consistently good, but the last few visits had some terrible service clearing our table before we were done while we were trying to say good bye to family and see the to the airport. They threw out a whole plate full of bacon and my pancakes as I like every mom never can eat with an antsy toddler. My kid kept getting up and trying to walk around, we did our best to keep him calm and contained. Its not as if they were even busy but they rushed us out and when I saw I was so upset over it after my husband took our older kids to the car I asked to speak with the manager to who reluctantly gave us an order of pancakes to go mind you it was a very nice check and tip we left despite the service then proceeds to tell me my husband ok'ed them tossing out our food. to which I said I doubted 100%. Was given burnt pancakes as well. To be clear I asked my husband and he said yep, sarcastically after they threw it in the nasty bust boys bin with all the dirty plates and scraps then he said OH yeah we're done now. I'm still upset over it all. that was not the way to handle a customer complaint. BE VERY VOCAL IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE HERE - Their Glenview location is by far ran better I've never had any issues there and went at least...
Read moreI frequently dine in the Walker Brothers Glenview location and enjoy their food and service. I CANNOT say the same for this Schaumburg location. The service here was AWFUL. Rude servers and a surprisingly terrible manager who doesn't want to provide even decently acceptable service. My family and I felt rushed (negative ambiance), unattended to (we had to keep asking for basic things like napkins, to go boxes), and treated like an inconvenience - when in reality we are providing them with business and hard earned money.
I will save you time and good money and recommend the nearest breakfast options close to this badly run location that are better options:
Maxfield's Pancake House (700 E Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194)
Egg Harbor (1310 American Ln, Schaumburg, IL 60173)
Sweet Orange Pancake House & Cafe (933 S Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193)
Richard Walker's Pancake House (1300 N Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60195)
The Southern Cafe (511 Roselle Rd, Roselle, IL 60172)
I will continue going to the Glenview location, it's just this Walker Brother's Schaumburg location that is in desperate need of new management and more staff/service training. Very disappointed with the quality of breakfast dining I...
