Sweet Reserve Cafe & Bakery — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

Sweet Reserve Bakery is exactly what it’s named. It’s tucked away in the same center as Bonefish Grill. They have a very nice barista coffee bar where they make really good lattes, cappuccino’s and espresso drinks. They have a nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee and sweets too.

The deserts that we tried were all excellent! The XL sugar cookie was the perfect amount of sweet, was nicely dense and soft in the middle.

The key lime tart was made with fresh limes and a light meringue on top. The mini pecan pie was loaded with nuts and had a simple biscuit like crust. The brown bomb (I call it) was a beautiful mousse enveloped by a decadent thick ganache’ coating.

The pistachio tiramisu was pretty good but I just returned from Italy and of course no tiramisu is going to come close to this! But they did a nice job and made it authentic with pistachios and I liked the rose petal garnish they put on the top. The individual cup style was perfectly packaged.

They offer breakfast items and have cakes you can order or choose a ready made that can be personalized. They also have a variety of macaroons. All in all the prices for the items I felt were good as they are using all top quality ingredients. Everything tasted Devine! We came in before a funeral and were expecting nice service based on other reviews but had more than one issue when actually there. One "specialty" coffee was $10+ and all coffees purchased were either extremely milky or something you could pour at home. There were no people ahead of us, but after ordering we saw many other people also waiting to the point where one guest confronted a worker about the delay being longer then initially stated and another guest asking for a refund because they needed to go. Once I received my coffee my sister asked if hers was also coming out because of the 20 min wait and the fact that she ordered before me to which the staff member replied that there were "more orders ahead of hers" which made no sense because she ordered before me. The floor staff were unaware of where food/drinks went to which tables as well which led to other staff constantly correcting others on where to go and taking plates on and off of different customers tables. Overall price and taste were not worth it, staff were dishonest about wait times and unaware of where orders should be (even with every customer having a specific order number). I am extremely disappointed with the service here. I tried to order the Ras Malai Tres Leches cake online for pickup at the Schaumburg location. However, when checking out, it only gave the Lombard location for pickup. I then tried calling the bakery to find out if the Schaumburg location had the cake and if I needed to pre-order. To my dismay, you can't even speak to someone at the bakery since it's an automated message.

I then saw on the website that you cannot pre-order cakes for the Schaumburg location and it's walk in only (see image). I took the risk and went to the Schaumburg location on Saturday morning and asked for the Ras Malai Tres Leches. I was told that the cake is only available by pre-order and not walk-ins. I was extremely disappointed because the website specifically says walk-in only, no pre-orders.

I then tried to place a pre-order for the cake for pick-up at the Lombard location. It said usually ready within 1 hour (see image). However, when I go to check out, it gives the next available date as Monday (today is Saturday).
