Capri's Pizza — Restaurant in Schererville

I love Capri pizza. I grew up ordering from the one in South Chicago and never had a problem. Now I moved to Crown Point and was surprised and happy to hear there was one in Scherrerville. I've ordered from there a bunch of times and have had good service, however the last two were horrible. This past time I ordered a large Capri special with fries for delivery. We called back literally a minute later to change it to carry out and we were hung up on. I get there to pick it up, gave them my credit card. She then proceeds to toss a pen on the counter, then later today I check my acct and found out I was charged an additional $5 that I did not authorize. At first I thought it slipped out of her hand, which happens to a lot of us with pens but she never said anything. The time before that I ordered the same thing. My wife and I go inside to pay and to check if it was ready. She collected the payment and told us it was going to be a bit longer which isn't a problem. So while we wait we noticed a younger gentleman prepping items wearing gloves, turns around with food in his hands and walks away a little, puts the food in his mouth and walks back and continues prep. No hand washing, no changed gloves. My pizza comes out and is placed on the table to be cut but isn't because everyone is taking selfies and pictures of each other. My pizza sat there for 10 minutes while they are taking pictures of each other! Finally someone says maybe we should cut the pizza then hands it to us. No apology no sorry for the wait that wasn't necessary. I am a GM of a local restaurant and I understand things happen, but we all are supposed to accommodate our guests. If we do something that's not up to par we apologize no matter if we are wrong or right. We don't tolerate this kind of behavior. It's not food safe or respectful. Sad to say but I won't be back. I suggest someone to review the camera footage to make sure the service that is given at night is up to par with...

If I could give zero stars I would. We were having neighbors and friends over for dinner. We decided to order 20 pieces of chicken and a tray of mostacolli. When it got delivered there was only 10 pieces of chicken and the mostacolli. When I called to tell them, the girl answering the phone questioned me and said, are you sure it's not there? Yes quite sure. And then I could hear the manager in the background saying I know for a fact I put it in there. At this point I felt very frustrated with how this was being handled and said look, I don't know what to tell you but I have ten pieces of chicken here. Do you want me to send you a picture? She said ok fine we will deliver it but unfortunately it will be an hour to an hour and ten minutes. I said this is completely unacceptable as I have people sitting here ready to eat with only half of the food we ordered! I asked to speak to the manager. She put me on a 2 minute hold and when it picked up again, it was her, and not the manager. She said we will send it out with the next delivery order. I am sitting here typing and I still do not have this chicken and it's been an hour and a half since I called and complained! My guests are done eating, everyone is frustrated, and really just a terrible way to end the night. The only good thing I can think of that will come out of this is that all my neighbors and friends will NEVER order from Capris again and will definitely spread this terrible story to their friends and family. I really cannot believe we are still waiting an hour and a half for capris to attempt to fix this mistake. The kicker is also, we live FIVE minutes from Capris! The manager could have gotten in his car and delivered it personally at this rate! Terrible service all around and to top it off, the 10 pieces of chicken we got were awful and cold and no meat on it. Do not eat at Capris and support their terrible business...

Just got their pizza again, fantastic! I got the margarita and the sausage and pepperoni. Both were perfect! Stick with the pizza, you won't be disappointed!

Previous review: Pizza and customer service is great. However, I just tried the italian beef and wings. The italian beef is disappointing, I definitely do not recommend you get that if you like Chicago style. They don't use giardiniera peppers like every italian beef place I've been to. Just some jalapenos that weren't spicy. It didn't have much flavor, even though it was dipped it was still rather dry, and I regret ordering them from here. The wings were alright, but overpriced for the quality. You can get a bucket of the same type of wings from Jewel Osco for the same price. I ate the wings, again, they taste fine, but it's not what I expected. But the italian beef should be redesigned. Until it is, you're better off going to Portillos or Buonas for italian beef. I will be back to Capri's for their pizza, that is pretty good, and I think their customer service is nice. I also appreciated that each sandwich came with fries and a soda. The fries were soggy and unenjoyable, but maybe it was just an off day...
