Whenever we're anywhere near Ypsilanti, we always take the opportunity to spend a little time at Arbor brewing company! EVERYTHING about the place is FANTASTIC! It starts with the beverages, you name a drink and I'll tell you they have it. They also keep coming up with new drinks they have to invent names for! Get ready, cuz here come their appetizers that are better than some places entrees and at unbelievable prices. Try the breadsticks with cheese 🧀 😋. The salad i had was very fresh and loaded right up with goodness. Homemade raspberry vinaigrette made me fall in love with salad! That is until I got my main, which was a mouth-watering salmon BLT!! Cooked to perfection 👌 👍. Our waitress, Elexis, recommended I try it. She has worked there for a few years now and she knows the menu by heart and really takes the time to get to know the customers and what they like. Other staff has helped us too and we haven't had bad service yet. I almost forgot to tell you about the desserts 🍨 GET THE BANANA CAKE 🎂 TRUST ME!!! The bar/restaurant is always full, but never feels crowded. And it's clean from the front door all the way to the bathrooms! I wish we had a Session Room in our town.

The Session Room on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor continues to be a disappointment. I've tried this place a few times now, hoping for a better experience, but it always seems to let me down. If you're looking for a good meal in this area, I'd highly recommend skipping The Session Room and heading down the street to Sam Hill – the food and atmosphere are significantly better. On this visit, I took the waiter's recommendation and ordered the smashburger over the wings. Honestly, after having such an average smashburger, I'm a little afraid to see what the wings are like. The burger itself was unremarkable; nothing special at all. Others at my table who also had the smashburger agreed. My wife opted for the chicken Caesar wrap, which she said was a little better than my burger, but still nothing to rave about. Beyond the mediocre food, the environment at The Session Room is just kind of "meh." It always seems to be totally empty, which doesn't exactly make for a lively or enjoyable dining experience. Overall, I don't think I'll be back. I've given The Session Room enough chances, and nothing ever changes. Three stars feels generous, honestly.

Scio township establishment here. Pizza is pretty good here, great flavors. Overall, not bad, is better than average bar and grill, simple menu featuring American classics and pizzas, but the main attraction here is the bar side. There’s easily 100 different beers/ales/meads here, including drafts and bottles. My 2nd time at The Session Room; I was here last year and they undercooked my salmon. This was a good experience with the pizza tonight! I’ll be back to try salmon again, to see if they can get an edit and extra star from me. Update: 03/08/24 - our server Elexis was very helpful with cider recommendations, and I enjoyed the Starcut Aurora Borealis she suggested I try. I have to add another couple stars, things are improving here!

2023 update - They've opened a large outdoor tent area with long picnic benches and tables that's quite nice. The food is still quite good. The service is consistently good too. The noise level, both inside and out, is still so bad that it's pretty much impossible to have a conversation there unless you come when they're very slow. Parking is still impossible. I've tried to go but literally had nowhere to park and had to leave.

2019 - Loud, crowded, characterless, no place to park. The service I got on my one visit to this place was really good, but the atmosphere is downright uncomfortable. It is a single large cavernous room, crowded most of the time, and the decor is just characterless. They had a decent beer selection and the food looked okay but not enticing (I did not try the food).

The large room is crowded with good sized tables and relatively comfortable chairs, but there is barely enough room to walk between them to get to your seat. The place seems to always be crowded and although they have a carpeted floor, it is very loud. My party had to yell at each other to have a conversation. It was just uncomfortable, the opposite of cozy.

I tried to stop by this place 3 times before finally getting in because there was nowhere to park. This place is out on a busy road, miles from downtown and they have a tiny parking lot. I'm not sure how they expect people to get there without driving and they have nowhere for people to leave their cars?!

The place was nice and clean. Again, the waiter was very good and their drink selection was good. They also had what looked like an interesting musician setting up as I was leaving, but it isn't my kind of place.

Update: I've been back on two occasions now and everything I wrote earlier still holds true. I did however get to try the food and it is possibly a little better even than it looks. I give the food alone a 4 out of 5. The service remains consistently good. I am not a fan of the building or the parking situation, but the service and food...

I am so bummed about my lunch today and, thus, felt compelled to email the restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not find an email. I was not greeted to be seated and was later told that hosts/hostesses do not greet on Tuesdays at lunch, though every other group arriving after me was greeted. A sign also indicated to "please wait to be seated." (When I approached the bartender, he very happily seated me in a booth.) Others who arrived after me were waited upon; thus, I called out to a person walking by that I'd love to place an order. She was very friendly and promptly took my order. Sadly, the soup of the day (potato) was already not available at 12:15 p.m. or so. After three tables (that arrived after me) were delivered meals, my dish arrived. My half Turkey Reuben was very sad looking. It was on a shiny bun. (I think it was supposed to be toasted.) The cheese was congealed. I realized driving home that there was no coleslaw, which makes the Reuben. The turkey was good, which I peeled away from part of the bun, since it was not agreeing with me. My side salad was fine. I should have gone with a lighter vinaigrette option. (I did not realize the house was think and sweet.) Sigh I had been looking forward to a yummy lunch after doing tedious tasks for my cousin's estate. I had thought about Fresh Forage again when I recalled I had not been to The Session Room in awhile. I have enjoyed a handful of meals at the Session Room in the past. So, I know you can do better. Honestly, I would have given this meal a one star, but the staff who I interacted with in reactive mode were all very pleasant. In fact, the fifth person I dealt with removed the sandwich cost from my bill. I greatly...

Nice wait staff but insanely slow. Great nachos but not as plentiful in quantity as comparable to other similar restaurants. They brought me the wrong beer, took over an hour wait for an appetizer, 25 minutes more for salads.. My child had a rubber band in his pizza. (I'm filling this out in real time). The croutons are stale. Asked the manager about the rubber band, and he claimed that after thoroughly investigating he could not explain it. My waitress came out 15 minutes later uninformed or questioned by the manager as to why we returned our childs pizza. My ratings were very low until I tried the grilled chicken (since they were out of 2/3 of the rest of the menu) and the herb butter reminded me of a blend I used to eat in central/western Germany. It would have been a remarkable memory and delicious endeavor had they not burned the crap out of my 8oz chicken breast and make me need every inch of butter to rehydrate the chicken. I will add a star because I have patience in a new start up restaurant. Had this been an established place I would give it the one star that McDonald's deserves. Edited the next morning... I'm afraid that since all my family who ordered the steak and seafood chowder got sick overnight I have no choice but to revoke my "sympathy star" and give the lowest rating I have ever given a restaurant. I will try again in a few months and provide further review. Until then if you are just looking for beer options this is an ok place but may I suggest a larger beer menu for you such as "Ashley's" or...
