Boba Tea House Ann Arbor — Restaurant in Scio Township

Use to taste really good but the last two times our drinks tasted watered down and just okay. Today, my husband went in and paid $14.79 for two drinks. When he came out to the parking lot I was so excited and took one drink and this horrible taste and texture came over me. Instead of a pleasant popping blueberry ball it was a hard, black licorice tasting, horrible texture, ball that seemed non-chewable.

I took the drink back in and told the girl something was wrong with the boba. The lady said it was black boba and that was the way my husband ordered it. I'm sure there could have been some miscommunication but... My husband ordered both drinks with popping blueberry boba (same as he's done several times).

She did "fix" my drink by just straining those yucky little chewy balls out and putting the yummy popping ones in. However, only after she made it clear that "the mistake was on us" and pretty much called my husband a liar. I drank it but could still taste a hint of those black boba that I think were extremely gross in my very expensive drink.

Amazing experience! Just happened to show up last minute before closing, they were honest and let us know it was an inventory day as to why they were still in and out. However the shop owner caught us at the last minute to offer some of the few things they did have in stock, as we had already drove all the way out there. We accepted and found some of the most amazing people and best smoothies! They invited us in and the atmosphere was so warm and cozy, plants everywhere as well as visible options to see what to order, and so many more amazing details have been put into this shop, and the amazing service was the cherry on top! I’d probably give it 4.5 stars but will round up to 5 :) Checked this place out this afternoon with my kids. The Tiger tea was everyone’s favorite—25% sugar was perfect for us. I think any sweeter would have been too sweet, but at the lower sugar, it had a nice caramely flavor and was delicious! Signature milk tea was inoffensive but kind of blah in comparison. Taro milk tea was better than the signature, and my kids said the peach yakult was good. Pearls were okay but not the best—a little dry in the centers but not bad.
