We were on vacation during Labor Day weekend and stayed in Scituate. We tried two other popular restaurants in the village (both great), but this one was the best! Our food was cooked perfectly, huge portion. Broiled scrod was delicious and fisherman’s platter was huge and cooked so well. Also ordered a kids pasta and it was so large that we had plenty leftover for another meal. The wait was a little long and the staff was clearly working hard trying to keep up, but they were so positive and accommodating. Most importantly, we had the best waitress we’ve ever had at this restaurant. I believe her name was Natalie? She was very direct but kind, got right to the point and didn’t bother or annoy us but checked in on us in timely fashion, despite being swamped with other customers. She was extremely pleasant to talk to and was literally the best waitress we’ve ever had! She deserves a raise for how hard she was working. We really had the best dining experience here and would gladly come back again!

On our SSBP Travels we ended up at Satuit Tavern in Scituate , Massachusetts. We were Greeted by a Friendly and Welcoming Hostess with such a Great Attitude made you feel right at home. Our Waitress Debra was Fantastic she took our drink and appetizer order of Ice Cold Beers ❄️🍻 and Fried Calamari 😋. As the evening continued we met some of the other members of the Wait Staff Carolyn and Amanda which made the experiences so much more Memorable with such Outgoing and Positive Attitudes made you feel that Home Sweet Home feeling 🥰 . Ordered a Hamburger and Onion Pizza 🍕 Laced and Well Done 😋we could not Resist the Special of Hot Buttered Lobster Rolls 😋with Onions Rings and Fries 😋 everything was Delicious. The Service was Excellent 👍 We Recommend Satuit Tavern ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been to this restaurant dozens of times, the food is usually great and the service is usually decent. This was not the case today on 7/22. My servers name was “Marybeth” by the way, so this entire review will be in regard to her and the service she provided today. First off when we sat down at the table my aunt told her that her, my grandmother and myself would be having separate checks so it’d be clear from the get-go. Before my aunt could finish her sentence our server rudely cut her off and said “I don’t care about that right now I’m taking drink orders.” Which was said in a rather patronizing tone by the way. The second issue started when I asked for a sprite, Marybeth told me “You’re supposed to stay with the same drink you know but I’ll allow it” as if I couldn’t just order a different soda then the one I had the first time. The third issue was when I received my sprite it had small debris or gunk floating around in it to which I brought up to her upon asking for a new drink. My grandmother who had gone to the bathroom right after this told me that all Marybeth did was stir my drink around and then return it to my table. At this point I didn’t even say anything I just left the glass sitting there for the rest of our meal. The fourth issue we encountered came when my cousin didn’t eat his chicken tenders because they were over cooked and dry. When pointed out to Marybeth she took them, returned them to the kitchen and then told my grandmother and aunt “The chicken tenders weren’t burnt at all. I opened them myself and they were very moist and juicy.” I don’t claim to be a food critic or a service expert but that is absolutely no way to talk to someone who has an issue with the food that can simply be resolved by just taking it off the bill. I was embarrassed and felt completely disrespected that Marybeth would say something like that to my elderly grandmother. Rather than apologize, take the item off the menu and move on, she chose to argue and bicker over $10 dollar chicken tenders with an elderly woman. I am beyond embarrassed for this establishment that they’d hire someone who treats guests like that from a service perspective. My family was disrespected multiple times over the course of our meal and we will surely not be returning back. As a former service, it’s my belief that you should treat all customers with the utmost respect and hospitality especially when they are the ones paying you.

We had heard good things [OK, neighbors Raved about it] and called several days earlier for reservations for a recent Saturday night. We were told, sorry, no reservations, but you'll only have a few min wait. Well, everyone on the south shore had the same plan as we did... after ~45 mins we were seated. The loud crowd at the bar extended over the partial wall into the dining room. The waitress was extremely nice, friendly, and helpful. The 4 of us chose very different items, yet the only comment was about the fish chowder, which recd 2 Great votes. Other fish choices [2] were "kinda bland" - lots of scallops wrapped in bacon for an app and they were good, but a bit over cooked and the veggies with the fish were barely noticeable under the tomatoes. None of us ordered fried food, and lots of serving platters were filled with that. I think if we ordered fried food, we would have been in the Satuit Tavern's sweet spot? The noise at other tables had to compete with the bar, which resulted in an even louder din. There appeared to be sound-absorbing panels on the ceiling. I can't imagine how loud the place was before those panels were added. Clearly, the owners know the noise problem and are trying to fix it. Sorry, no pictures. Returned for another chance: Two of us on a quiet Monday night. Once again, nothing special. Pretty okay Calamari, but nothing special. Stuffies were full of stuffing and didn't see/taste any quahog. Soup/Chowder special, spinach artichoke lacked depth; French Onion soup was really bland and disappointing. Food 2/Service 3/Atm 3 Added 2 pics. I don't know about a third chance...

UN-AUTHENTIC Clam Chowder. The two pics show the "clams" in my chowder. These were off-white, but most had a reddish skin to them. At our request our server asked the owner what the red stuff was and he said "red clams". What the hell are red clams? Nothing I've ever heard of from the Atlantic Ocean, probably something from Asia, but not sure they were actually even clams. A big disappointment for sure. I grew up here and was back for a memorial service. Wanted authentic NE clam chowder and got this instead. Shame on you Satuit Tavern. If you're going to serve something novel, don't pretend it's authentic New England Clam Chowder, because it's not. Also, both items we ordered were billed at higher prices than were stated on menu. Lame. Print new menus or write "market price"! Never coming here again.

Wow! When you're not a local, go where the locals go. The hotel bartender recommended this place, and it was so very good. I'm not even a big fan of clan chowder, but the one here is delicious. I also ate the broiled scallops, and they were cooked to perfection. Check 'em out! You'll be happy you did. And full.
