Coffee/food/location excellent, but management was quite rude to me.
My wife & I were in town for a long weekend & were using Lucky Finn as our daily breakfast spot. On Sunday morning, we popped in before making our way to Gillette for the Pats game. I ordered an egg & cheese bagel on a plain bagel, because I have a sesame allergy. On the way to the game, I unwrapped my bagel & it was a sesame bagel rather than plain. Unfortunate for me, but mistakes happen.
I called the shop to ask for a refund because we didn't want to drive back to Scituate while already on our way to Foxborough. They told me a refund would be issued when the manager got in, which was fine with me.
The refund hadn't been issued the following morning, but I was going back to Lucky Fin for another round of coffee/breakfast anyways, so I asked about the refund when I went to order. The manager was taking my order & told me she hadn't issued the refund & began questioning me about the prior day's order, clearly implying she thought I was lying about receiving the incorrect order. It was so out of line that I left the shop without placing a new order or receiving the refund.
On the way home, I remembered I still had the prior day's incorrect order in my car, so I went back to the shop to show the manager that it was incorrect & I wasn't trying to steal from them. At that point, she did refund the bagel & apologize.
Hopefully this was just a one off event & not the way management typically treats customers. Very off-putting for an otherwise...
Read moreAvocado BLT? Yes, please. What a charming waterfront coffee and sandwich shop.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting a delightful little coffee and sandwich shop located right on the water, overlooking the beautiful Scituate Bay. This cozy establishment truly captures the essence of a charming seaside escape.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by attentive and cheerful customer service. The staff was incredibly helpful, guiding me through the menu as it was my first time there. I decided on the avocado BLT wrap, which turned out to be the perfect size for a satisfying meal, especially when paired with my cold brew iced coffee.
The decor of the shop is reminiscent of an old seaside establishment, adorned with nautical themes and vibrant merchandise that added to its charm and made a lasting impression. It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time while enjoying the view and atmosphere.
One thing to keep in mind is the parking situation; since it’s a busy area, you'll need to park at the public parking lot nearby. However, the experience inside is well worth the small effort!
Overall, this coffee and sandwich shop is a gem that I highly recommend. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a place to relax with a great view, this spot is...
Read moreUsed to like this place but it’s gone downhill.
I had two friends in town visiting and I brought them here on a busy Saturday morning. One friend is VERY lactose intolerant, and ordered an oat milk latte. It came, they took a sip, and thought it tasted like whole milk. Me and my other friend took a sip and both thought the same. So my lactose intolerant friend walked up to the older guy who works there who owns the place and asked if they could remake it because she doesn’t think her coffee has oat milk in it, which is a pretty normal thing to ask at a coffee shop. The owner says to her “if it says oat milk on the tag, then that’s what’s in it” and refused to make her another coffee.
Terrible customer service, very disappointing from a popular local business. Haven’t been back since and...
