It is Saturday evening, 9:23pm. We are leaving for vacation early tomorrow so we decided to order pizza to save time. While it took about 55 minutes for two pan pizzas to arrive, the kids are watching the Olympics so they survived. After thanking and tipping the driver, I got everyone settled to eat. Unfortunately we discovered that one of the two pizzas was incorrect. It had bacon on it instead of pineapple. Now first let me say this is a first world problem - my delicious second pizza wasn't what I ordered. It was disappointing because my wife and adorable kids love pineapple. What has motivated me to write this review is the phone call I just had with the store. I spoke with a young lady and explained the situation. Her response was that they could have the correct pizza to us in 45 minutes to exchange with the incorrect pizza...yes, exchange. After waiting almost an hour to feed my family pizza ( way past their bed times) I would have to NOT use one of our two delivered pizzas in order to exchange it for the correct pizza in 45 minutes. So in this scenario, we would wait almost two hours to have our correct order and all of the inconvenience would be carried by us. The girl spoke to her manager about the situation and I was put on hold. It was confirmed that this was the policy - if we ate the incorrect pizza there was nothing they could do. Given that we had already waited an hour, we are leaving for vacation early tomorrow, and there are 6 mouths to feed, this isn't a realistic option. I kindly explained that while I understand this is policy, it shows no concern for the customer and no gesture of restitution. My guess is the incorrect pizza would be thrown out anyway (although that is just a guess). In any case, I said we would keep the pizza and this would just be left as a disappointing experience with our local Dominos (one that we frequent). She wished me a good night and hung up. Again I realize that this is NOT a huge issue but the fact is, it was half the order, it was your mistake, the manager was made aware of this situation and there were no efforts to make sure the customer didn't have a bad experience, doesn't write bad reviews all over the place, doesn't share said story with family and friends, and doesn't switch to Papa Johns which is also around the corner. Having worked in restaurants, a very simple gesture goes a long way just to show you actually care. This was a missed...
Read moreI'll preface this with saying that this isn't a reflection of Domino's as a whole. I've ordered from the Cranford location many times over the years and haven't once had a problem. However, with this location, there have been significant issues with the last three orders all placed within the past year.
First time, I ordered online for pick up. Estimated time of completion for the order was 30 to 40 minutes. I showed up to the store at the 30 minute mark and proceeded to wait for my order for 45 additional minutes as I saw other orders fly out the door to be delivered that were placed after mine was.
Second time, I ordered online for delivery. Estimated time of arrival was 55 to 65 minutes. Whatever. My order doesn't show up until two and a half hours later to the point where I'm not even hungry anymore. No apology, nothing. Food shows up ice cold. Strike two.
Last night was the last straw. I placed my order, and shows up on time but without half of my order. I advised the driver of this and told me that's all that he had, and TRIED TO TELL ME THAT I DIDN'T ORDER WHAT I ACTUALLY ORDERED, despite showing him the order receipt. I call the store and they tell me they'll come back in an hour with the rest of my order. Of course, they never showed up, and now I'm past the 16 hour window to file a "delivery assurance" claim.
Don't order from here unless you want your food to arrive late, cold, and incorrectly. Shut this...
Read more3 times in a row and my order is wrong. I ordered 3 pizzas, one of them a ExtravaganZZa pizza, don't add olives add pineapple. Why no pineapple on the pizza? First 2 times I had to drive back this time I caught it before leaving but had to wait not another 15 minutes for a new pizza like they said but 30 minutes. One boy playing around so much he dropped the dough on the floor and looked around saw me then threw it away. If I wasn't sitting there in that freezing cold store watching him he probably would have put toppings on it and put it in the oven for a customer. All of them working had wireless ear buds in their ears and kept looking at their phones. And no one washed their hands after touching their phones just showed them back on their pockets and went back to tossing dough. Well they got a free pizza for the employees to enjoy in the back and I got two cold pizzas and a replacement pizza with just enough pineapple on it to say it's there. I am NEVER going to this location again. Very...
