I write this with mixed emotions. My friend and I go to different places after church to catch up on our week. It had been years since I last was here. Love this place, decor, menu, staff very friendly. I knew I wanted grits. I love grits but I was at a lost for words trying to explain to my friend what they were made from. So I asked our waitress Milinda and she said its like corn meal, the stuff that's on the bottom of pizza, I said "YES, Corn meal" I said "Thank you" and then she went into how she thought it was disgusting, and gritty and the texture grossed her out. I replied with "Oh ok. I am going to have those disgusting grits, plain, with butter please" and also ordered the carrot cake pancake, friend had blueberry pancake and the hash skillet. YUM YUM YUM. Back up... while my friend and i were talking, waiting for our order, the table next to us was asking about the Triathlete, and Milinda quickly replied "its ok, i guess. Something about Atkins this, and then said "In my opinion its the worst thing on our menu!" my friend and I's jaw literally BOTH dropped at the same time. ARE you kidding me. YOU NEVER EVER EVER bad mouth your items on the menu. EVER. She continued on with "we get 30 plus orders for that a day" OK that should have been the only response to that question, not the other stuff. Not cool and I so wanted to stand up and find the manager as I saw him walking around a couple times. but didn't see him when we were getting ready to pay our bill. So i decided to do a Google/Yelp reply. Sorry I had to be bold and truthful. I do not like to be the barer of such remarks without physically speaking to...
Read moreFirst time patron at First watch. We went there for breakfast and had a delicious meal. We were greeted by the hostess with a smile, and promptly seated. We wanted a different table, and we're politely accommodated. The atmosphere was casual, well lit, and open, with an industrial, theme to the restaurant. Our server was polite and helpful, and had a pot of coffee right to our table. I ordered. Their million dollar bacon, and the French toast. My mother had a varient of their eggs Benedict. For some reason. Our food came out later than patrons who were seated after us, but it wasn't a big deal. My french toast was very good, served with a side of fresh jam, and warm maple syrup. I wasn't super impressed with the bacon... Although tasty and different, just a little too sweet for my taste. I prefer regular smoked bacon. My mother had the eggs Benedict, that came with a side of greens. A fresh salad with some balsamic , lemon dressing. She would have liked the eggs not as cooked , but enjoyed her meal all the same. All in all a very pleasant experience , great food and service, and I would love to go back. If your a breakfast person, this place is a must, with plenty of heart healthy options on the menu. Well done...
Read moreI come here quite often and never have I had an issue with service, however the service I received today was completely lackluster, starting with the hostess in the front. Both hostesses couldn’t care less about this businesses’ customers, as they were both more wrapped up with texting on their phones than providing hospitality to their guests, multiple people requested to sit outside, instead of checking availability for these guests they quickly stated the patio was full (even though there were tables open) and proceeded to seat guests inside. From there it took our server 8 minutes to come to our table, and even longer to get our drinks. Not to mention a table nearby received no service and left rather frustrated that they had received no help. Rather than care about providing the proper hospitality to all guests the manager and other servers chose to all circle up and talk. Not giving a 1 star review because of the food always tasting great and service always being up to par. But if this is how a business is to continue to be ran, a lot of business will...
