Sweet Republic — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I came here on my travels in search of a good ice cream place and this place was so good I had to come back for a second time. Their quality was great and their flavors were very original.

I always search for the best ice cream places when I travel and this place did not disappoint. Their ice cream was so well made and creamy--it had a rich flavor that was not overwhelming, but just perfect. I can see why they were rated so high.

The flavor selection was also fantastic. I tried a bunch of flavors and honestly every one was so good. I usually stick to simplistic chocolate ice cream when I am trying new places, but every "different" flavor really challenged my decisions!

here are some of the flavors I tried (and my wife): -PB with dark chocolate flakes--this was so good I actually got it my first trip here -Apple pie--my wife was in love with this one -pumpkin--this one tasted like pumpkin pie and was fantastic. If I had more of an appetite I would have gotten this one too -mint chip--my wife loved this one too as it is mint ice cream with chocolate flakes -I forget the name but it had oatmeal cookie chunks in it and it was so good.

They have many more flavors that I am blanking on, but honestly every one I tasted was fantastic. The place is a bit pricey, but well worth the money especially if you are looking for the best ice...

We live an hour away from this sweet republic and we usually stop here almost every time we are in the area. Tonight we decided to stop by and we rushed there because we knew they were closing at 11 and we made it with 10 minutes to spare. We were helped by a young gentlemen that was very rude and disrespectful and made us feel very unwelcome. He kept asking us is that everything that we want after my wife and my kids ordered and each time sounded more irritated then the first time. Then when I got ready to pay I asked can you toast a marshmallow and put it on top of our ice cream please. He look at the other guy there helping him and said no we can’t do that, sorry. Even though there’s a picture of a toasted marshmallow on the wall and the torch tank was literally sitting right behind the counter.

We have never had a bad experience until tonight. So sorry that we came in 10 minutes before closing and we inconvenienced everyone with our business. I don’t remember what his name was but whoever it was he definitely worked tonight and was there before closing....

This is excellent ice cream compared to other places in the country. A surprising selection of flavours made from seasonal (or at least whole, from what I️ could tell) ingredients.

I gave it a solid 3 stars because:

Even if it’s not the best ice cream ever, you’ll still enjoy it and have fun tasting through some of the more exotic flavours.

The texture and flavour were reliable and distinctive. They’re probably about 10-20% off artisanal ice cream.

Quite expensive for the portion sizes. (Nearly $7 for the 2 scoop & 1 topping you can see in my photo). But that cookie topping was 75c when a whole cookie is $1 so I feel that was good value.

You’ll probably wait for 5-10 minutes for your ice cream (especially if you order a fudge sundae or one of the special concoctions with plenty of toppings and sauces), but you’ll be served with a smile and good nature (plus no judgement if you want to try plenty of flavours!)
