Wally's American Gastropub — Restaurant in Scottsdale

In the last year, we’ve visited Wally’s 17 times as a family of four. The food has always been solid, and we’ve genuinely enjoyed the meals during each visit. However, the service—specifically the seating experience—has left much to be desired. Despite making reservations, we consistently end up at less-than-ideal tables.

Our most recent visit was so disappointing that we ended up walking out. We were seated in the bar area, where people were standing and staff were constantly bumping into us. This made for a far from relaxing dining experience, especially with our two young children (ages 7 and 9) in tow. On top of that, we overheard inappropriate conversations about topics like sex, which was uncomfortable for us and certainly not a suitable environment for children.

Given that there was an open table in the quieter section, it’s frustrating to see how little effort was made to accommodate us. We don’t consider ourselves snowbirds; we live here year-round, and it’s unfortunate that we feel like we’re not valued customers.

The hostess’s response to our concern was equally unhelpful—simply offering the option to sit outside when it was 52°F and we had young children with us didn’t feel like a genuine attempt to resolve the issue. It’s hard to understand why, after so many visits, they couldn’t make a small accommodation and move us to a quieter table, especially when one was available.

After this experience, unfortunately, this will likely be our last visit to Wally’s. It’s a shame because we’ve enjoyed the food, but the overall dining experience, especially with young kids, has made us rethink where we’ll go...

What a great find!!! Delicious! Fantastic service and. dining experience.

Drinks Superbe. Fantastic and excellent bar tending professional.

Cadillac Margarita was a perfect blend of all ingredients. Every sip and drink warmed my tommy and made me feel happy and giddy.

Pineapple Margarita drinky too. This was just a parade of music on the tongue. Super tasty recommendation by our waiter. Wow. Every sip was a rainbow of flavors.

Appetizers Pretzel bread and cheese fondue Pretzel bread is soft, chewy, perfectly salted. Just amazing way to start the meal. The cheese dip sauce was romance. The bread was romanced by the delicous cheese fondue dip. I felt like I was at a fondue shop. We were in LOVE.

Dining Ribs - heaven sent ribs are cooked with LOVE. This is the first time in years that I have seen the meat fall of the bone as we bit into the rib. Good thing our teeth and lips grabbed a small sliver of the meat. Before the majority fell off like butter. Wow. Best part was using the fork to scoop up the perfectly cooked spiced ribs. My lipe were in heaven and my tongue lived again.

Rigatoni cream pasta OMG - felt like I was in the old country of North Italy. Cream based sauce with white soft perfectl cooked chicken and spicy sausage cut into small pieces just mixed so well with the 'al dente' Rigatoni, white cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes that my tongue sang a symphony. OMG OMG OMG damn delicious.

I cannot wait to come back again.

Made a reservation on opentable the day before Valentines Day.... specifically requested inside seating when prompted to make a selection. Arrived exactly at the time specified on reservation, gave host my first name, he verified my 8:45 reservation by confirming my last name. After confirming the reservation I was asked if I wanted to sit inside or outside, I notified him that my reservation was for inside dining. After a brief pause he told me that the reservation did NOT specify indoor or outdoor seating, and that there was no indoor seating available (despite the inside being at approximately 15%capacity). We reluctantly agreed to the patio dining. Service was good, but patio dining experience was not. The wind made my fiancé uncomfortably cold, and the constant banging of the metal pipe that anchored the wind screens was everything but tranquil. Food was good, not great.... but good. Was expecting more after seeing such excellent reviews on multiple sites. Menu was limited, thankfully they had a prime rib offered as a special this evening. We MAY try again, because of so many other positive reviews, but was dissappinted that we were forced to sit outside despite a reservation for indoors opentable. For what it’s worth our reservation on opentable is showing as canceled, which means I mot only lost my inside table, but...
