We recently relocated to West Scranton, found Vincenzo's and it quickly became our go-to restaurant. The food has always been very good to excellent and the atmosphere made us feel very much at home.

Having eaten here many times over the past 3 months, we have noticed a disturbing change since the end of July in the service. What had routinely been open, honest and communicative service has become a game of Russian roulette.

Last night, Saturday 26 August 2023, we received what has to be the most offensive service we've ever experienced anywhere. This includes restaurants across most of the US and over 15 foriegn countries.

Our server was an abrupt, entitled and unpleasant jerk. Enough so that if we decide to sit down for a meal inside Vincenzo's again and we see this server, we will walk out. Our menus were slapped down on the table, took offense when my wife asked for a cocktail, deliberately misunderstood my order for a Labatt's Blue twice, offered us water, took our meal order and and then disappeared.

25 minutes later with no cocktail, beer or water, I asked the busperson to send our server over. We got a different server, who was clearly nervous, wouldn't look us in the eye and mubled something about being very busy. I said I was concerned so had to ask what was going on. Shortly afterwards, a more senior server brought the cocktail and gave us assurances that the beer and water would be right up. So, 30 minutes in, we got a cocktail, but not the bottled beer or icewater. We almost walked out right then.

10 minutes later, the beer and water arrived with my wife's roll and salad shortly thereafter. We knew the food was worth waiting for and once it finally arrived another 15 minutes along, our patience was rewarded.

Then the service reared up again. More senior, nervous and the jerk all came by to ask if we were enjoying our meal. That's expected, but not when it's calculated to interrupt enjoyment of the meal. "Server radar" is a well-known phenomenon, but what happens by chance once and is coincidence twice becomes deliberate when it happens three times in a row less than 5 minutes apart.

The poor service changed to blatantly offensive at the end of the meal. The jerk asked if there was anyting else. I mistakenly ordered a second beer to another display of totally insincere "misunderstanding" my request. This time, the beer was more quickly thumped down on the table and we were again asked if we needed anything further. I asked for a box for the leftover pizza and another for the leftover antipasto salad. They came immediately with the bill, all again aggressively slapped down.

Vincenzo's can't fix these kinds of problems if they don't know about them, and that's the purpose of this review. No one on the food service side was even remotely interested in a real-time discussion of the many opportunities for improvement inflicted on us. This was radically different from the vast majority of service we've experienced here. It has now happend 4 times, and all of them beginning at the end of July 2023.

Every service establishment can have a bad day, and everyone understands that. When the "bad days" are repeated in short order with no effort made to address concerns when a guest objects, something is wrong at a more fundamental level. Our experiences have been mostly on Fridays and Saturdays.

So, Vincenzo's makes superior to excellent food at fair prices. Go for takeout and you'll be 100% satisfied. If you choose to dine in, you're taking...

Love the atmosphere, they really did lovely with the upgrades over the years. My biggest issue is the taste of what I ordered. In the past the chicken cheese steaks have been great but this time I did pizza and boneless wings. #1 the pizza is small for a large and don't get me started on the sauce. Bitter and bland without spices and flavor. I frequent Old Forge and Pittston for pizza and many places are as if Mom made the sauce, authentic Italian with taste. #2 This sauce is very much tasting as if it came out of a can without any TLC, same with the cheese. The boneless wings fall to the same trend, taste of which feels like franks red hott buffalo sauce store bought without any original flavor. I hope things change because the chicken cheese streak is not enough to bring me back...

I ordered a pizza, toasted ravioli, and wing bites GARLIC PARM normally you order garlic parm and its like a buttery oil cheese .. they make it with mild sauce. It was basically buffalo sauce and parm cheese, its not advertised and I have an issue with my throat where I cannot eat hot or spicy, I called to asked (since again not advertised) and she asked came back and said actually yeah we mix it with mild, I told her I cannot eat them bc of medical reasons then. All she said was "oh My apologies".. not can we do something for you a flavor you. I'm very upset, I anyways love them. Upset

We got a chicken parm pizza the other day, and it was great! The fresh basil was a great touch, and I love that they went light on the sauce. For a large the price was around 16 dollars, so honestly, it was not bad for how big it was! Overall, this was a great find, and I can't wait to try more!! (may I suggest a chicken bacon ranch pizza? lol)
