One star is generous. The place clearly benefits from being one of the more central and accessible breakfast spots in town. We brought six people, stay in SIC regularly, and made what is now our last visit to Rick’s today. One order requested waffle fries, an alternate option they offer to home fries. The order came out with home fries, and what amounted to about 10 pieces of potatoes, but this review isn’t about how they skimp on the included side orders. We asked our server for waffle fries and addressed the mistake, and the very nice girl who took care of us brought them. When we got the check, we noticed we were charged for a side of waffle fries, and simply asked her about the charge since it was her mistake. Debbie (The owner, possibly? Though you’d never be able to tell) came to our table and proceeded to interrogate us about the mix-up. She asked if we received the home fries, and if we ate them or sent them back to the kitchen (obviously the server did not ask for the plate back and did not expect someone to give their plate back only to have the side replaced while their omelette sits and gets cold). Debbie then implied that since we ate them, “what’s the problem?” We gave them to another person at the table with home fries, giving them a proper amount of home fries for a “breakfast house.” We had two small children with us and would have never thought we were expected to return the small portion of home fries after a mistake that was not ours. She then scoffed and walked away, only to send our server back over after taking HALF the price of waffle fries off the bill. Easily one of the least professional experiences we’ve ever had. Our whole table was shocked. Don’t worry, Debbie, we made sure the server got an extra few bucks for having to deal with you on a regular basis. You can get good breakfast food at a million places, do yourself a favor and go to one that cares about the people keeping them...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. First of all, I went in to get breakfast-to-go with my friends, and as soon as I walked in to the counter a lady gave us attitude and told us to stand up against the wall, then after about 10 minutes someone finally came to take our order. We order and all that, then wait about 25 minutes for simple breakfast sandwiches to go. Then on top of that, my friend asked for waffle fries and received home fries. There is a price differiential so the restaurant that MADE the mistake asked my friend to pay the difference. Ok whatever yea thats not that big of deal to make a fuss over. But then when I looked at my order I had ordered two orders of home fries, but the employee who put my bag together with my 4 sandwiches and two orders of home fries didnt put in any plastic silverware. So I ask for some and a different employee brings me back some, not asking how many I need and says thats gonna cost a dollar. My inital reaction is are you serious? And she sarcastically said yes. She gave me three when I only needed two sets of silverware for my two orders of home fries, she didnt even bother to ask. So I pay the dollar half tempted to tell them how bad there service is, then I take my sandwiches back to my family and low and behold, 3 of the 4 sandwiches I ordered were wrong. This is some of the worst service I had anywhere. So I didnt even bother going back because knowing them, they would charge me again for more sandwiches even though they messed them up. Dont go here. Not...
Read moreUpdated review; My family and I have dined here a few times now. The food is great. Portions are good. We've tried most of the breakfast items, and everyone really enjoys their meal. They are a little cheaper than Uncle Bill's and Brian's Waffle. The service is good. I did notice the teens working here openly complain to each other and give you dirty looks if you arrive after about 1:15pm. But, overall, the food is quite good. We will be going back.
Original review: Family decided to go to Rick's breakfast house. We arrived at 1:45pm. Their hours state they close at 2pm. When we went in an older woman told us "We're closed. We close at 2pm". I asked "You don't seat customers until 2pm? Or you want all customers out by 2pm?". Old lady replied, " We're closed". Ok then! So, they close at 1:45pm; Or maybe it's whenever they...
