Great food and Great prices. I love how Applebees combine specials in their menu to include appitizers, entrees and desserts with an assortment of combinations, So their customers can get the most value for their money without jeopardizing quality, quantity and taste. I have been to several applebee's over the years up and down the Eastern Seaboard and several this summer while traveling out West to South Dakota for our family vacation. I have never had a problem with the waitresses or waiters. Their restaurants are always clean and this includes bathroom facilities, dinnerware and glassware. We have always been seated immediately or shortly there after arrival even if it is extremely busy. The hostess has always been forthcoming and knowledgeable as to what specials are being offered that day from soup of the day to your vegetable of the day and also very knowledgeable about any of their mixed drinks and any specialty drinks being offered do to any of the holidays. I really love how you can swipe your debit or credit cards right from were you are seated as they have a card reader right on the corner of the table that is movable to either side of the table for which ever patron is paying the bill and it even breaks down what your tip needs to be rather your paying 15% or 20% and it gives you that opportunity to include either percentage to your final amount or you have the option to skip that and you can just pay your total amount due and leave your waitress or waiters tip on your table. You also have the option to enter your email address so your receipt can be emailed to you or you can opt to have your receipt printed out. We made small talk for about 5 minutes as we waited for the bartender. I glanced around and noticed everyone at the bar was served. Jeff, the bartender worked on the cash register in front of us and never acknowledged or made eye contact even though he was less than 3 feet from us. A few more minutes went by and we noticed that he was standing at the other end of the bar with another employee making small talk with a gentleman having a beer. My husband became upset and he said let's go. As we were walking out, we walked past a group of employees and my husband asked one of them who was the bartender. The employee answered Jeff and pointed at the guy who never made eye contact. Prior to this experience, we were there at least 5 times and was pleased with the service. We always tipped well and spent an average of $65 per visit. Unfortunately for Applebee's and because of this experience, we found that across the street, Texas Roadhouse was much more pleasant, the food is WAY better and the prices were very good. Too bad the experience at Applebee's made us feel Jeff didn't want to serve us even though we patiently gave him every opportunity to do his job. Ordered drink, which was a very good suggestion, wife enjoyed it. Ordered meals for both of us. Then I ordered bottled water, which was on menu. Waitress returned and noted that Applebeeās was āout of stockā. Asked waitress for an alternate drink choice, since no water was available. Waitress replied that there was no other options at that price and I would have to order something else(no customer comp). Requested waitress call manager to resolve issue. Manager returned and stated that there were no water bottles at this restaurant due to delivery issue( this was not reflected on menu nor known by waitress when initial order placed). I asked , as manager if he could provide a comp for lack of water. Manager said he could not. I requested manager to cancel our meal orders and later requested a check for ordered drink. Waitress returned minutes later ā notingā Alcoholic drink was being ācomplimentaryā due to water issue. By then, we were ready to go to a more customer-friendly restaurant across the street.
