I really don’t like to leave negative reviews, but thought it would be important to leave this review as a warning and as feedback.

I visited this restaurant after reading many positive reviews and was excited to try the breakfast burrito. I ordered the burrito to go and sat down to wait for it after being told there would be a 20 minute wait.

About 5 minutes into waiting, two women came in, saw me sitting at the table, and then asked the host if they could have my table. There were other tables available where they could have dined, yet the server came to me, also a paying customer, and asked me to wait outside. Again, there were other tables available.

This is concerning to me as the only black customer in the restaurant at the time. It felt as though my patronage was not valued, and personally I refuse to pay for service that sends that message.

I ended up getting a refund and plan to go Ubuntu...

My friends and I are on Vacation from Tennesse, staying in Anaheim. We came to the coast to get a bit of beach time in, and were actually looking for a breakfast place he had looked up online but on the way stumbled upon Catrina's. The was one of thos happy accidents that turned into a wonderful experience. We were dead set on visiting again before we left for home so we went back again this morning. The staff is wonderful. We spoke with the owners and gave our praises for the food. From the presentation to the taste, it is unparallelled in any other breakfast establishment we have been to on our 11 day trip. I am glad we got to have it a second time, as it truly is a once in a lifetime meal experience. To anyone traveling through seal beach, this is a very worthy hidden gem that will not leave you disappointed. 10/10. Cannot wait to revisit this wonderful place...

I went to this cafe for a quick breakfast and were really pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and tasty food.

The coffees we got were the Cafe Mexicano and the Cafe de olla. Both were on the sweeter side but you could order a side of milk or cream so I did that and I helped temper the sweetness. Like other reviews said their drink portions are very generous and they did come out in big cups on saucers.

We got the breakfast burrito and chilaquiles with carne asada. We enjoyed both. The chilaquiles had shredded iceberg lettuce, sour cream, cotija cheese, eggs over easy, and thin/crunchy tortilla chips with green salsa. It’s a lot of good

The service was great as our servers were attentive but not intrusive. They asked if we enjoyed the coffee we got after we received the order and the wait time was only a few minutes to get seated and maybe 10 mins...

I’ve passed by this cute little restaurant so many times on the way to Crema Cafe, and I’m so glad I finally stopped in! I wasn’t in the mood for eggs, so I ordered from the sandwich menu and got the veggie wrap. It was delicious and HUGE so I saved the other half to go. My boyfriend had an omelet and really enjoyed it. It was busy, but not overwhelmingly so it’s definitely more chill than the usual wait at Crema. I still love Crema, but tbh, this place might have just won me over. The space is small but very clean, service was fast, and the staff were all super attentive. You could flag down anyone and they’d gladly help. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks, Catrina Cafe!

A "newer" local cafe I haven't then internet because every time I come by it's so busy. The line seems to be justified. On a slow Tuesday morning I slipped in for a fantastic breakfast. Extending my love affair with espresso the Cafe Mexicano provided a tasty treat of espresso, milk, cinnamon and hot water. Main course was ave what the spicy BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, egg, Verde salsa). A breakfast twist on a classic sandwich. It was also fantastic. Service was kind. Outside of trying to deal with the long waits they sometimes have, I'll be back again.

Was surprised by this place. Service was prompt and courteous. Food was very good. I got the avocado toast and wife got the eggs your way. The avo toast was served on HOUSE made bread that was amazing. Flavor profile popped. Topped it was a poached eggs that was the best I have ever had. I don't get it, but it was so good. Wife got the poached eggs with yummy bacon and "house potatoes", that were amazing as well. Green in color due to seasoning...flavor...oh my. Going again real soon.
