My first and probably only visit I will be taking to this restaurant... Let me start by saying how excited I was for a Whataburger to open in Searcy. Every chance that I get, driving through Texas, I stop to get food, so I was ecstatic about being within an hour drive to a Whataburger in Arkansas. My family and I arrived around 4 p.m. A younger guy was on his way to the entrance from taking trash to the dumpster, he was kind enough to hold the door open for all of us while another employee (a blonde female) wasn't doing anything at all (maybe she was on break? Idk) The young guy took our order and explained that the store was out of hamburger buns so they were having to use texas toast so I asked him if they had the buns used for the chicken sandwiches. He responded that he would have to ask. He walked to the cookline and a female pretty much yelled "if she requests it go ahead BUT don't do it for ANYONE ELSE!". He guy politely walked back over, repeated his instructions from the female employee but MUCH KINDER. I went ahead with my order and my family's order even though I didn't much care for the tone of the female.
We got our drinks and then sat down to wait on our order.
The same guy who took our order, also brought our food to us. Once again, very polite! He then proceeded to go back to the register and take other customer orders.
We enjoyed our food for the most part. Except for the fact that our food was not hot. (To the point that the cheese on our hamburgers didn't melt by the slightest) but we didn't complain.
As we ate our food we noticed how dirty the floors were in the lobby. Ketchup smeared on the walls, napkins and straw wrappers on the floor (typical fast food restaurant nowadays) and about the time that my husband and I started discussing how we felt about the food and messy lobby a man walks out, I'm assuming the manager since he had on a white shirt and black pants, and walks around the entire lobby, goes to the register area and tells the blonde female to sweep the lobby.
That girl turns to the male employee who has been doing PLENTY of work, who has been SUPER polite, and tells him "GET TO IT!"
My husband couldn't believe that she talked to her co-worker in front of customers like that after we had seen how much work the young guy was already doing while the female wasn't doing a quarter of the work that the young man was.
I wanted to address our experience with the manager but nowadays that seems to not mean much, it goes in one ear and out the other, and a generic "Yes ma'am, I'll take care of it." gets said and nothing changes so instead, my husband and I agreed to recognize the young man for his behavior; for his work, for his mannerism towards being talked down to, and for his ability to continue with his job even though if it were me, I would have walked right out and not felt a single bit bad about quitting the job.
I rewarded the young guy with a $20 tip, and if I would have been able to give him more to afford him the expenses of walking out, I would have done it in a heartbeat!
I don't care what the female's issue was or if that was her "personality" she had ZERO right to treat that guy the way that she was or talk to him the way she was! ESPECIALLY around customers!
That guy was the ONLY worker up front, not any other employee made an effort to back him up while he cleaned the lobby like he was so rudely ordered to do. Customers continued to wait for someone to take their order because nobody would act like a TEAM and work together with...
Read moreI was traveling to Little Rock from Missouri and when I seen there would be a Whataburger on my way, I was excited to stop by and get some (we don’t have Whataburger in Missouri and I’m from Tx so when I get a chance, I take it). Anyway, I quickly regret stopping. 🙄 Drive thru server (funny looking little man, with a patchy beard) was very rude, kept cutting me off and asking me to repeat my order several times. Seemed like he was doing it on purpose. After I got done ordering, I asked if I could have some spicy ketchup and he rudely said, ughh you can ask for ketchup when you get to the window!”
I make it to the window, he gives me my drinks, no straws. We wait for our food about 20+ minutes. Then when he finally hands me my food I asked if the straws and ketchup were in the bag, he turns, grabs the straws and hands them to me. Never says anything about the ketchup. Anywho, I go to the parking lot to look through and make sure I have everything. Ofcourse, no ketchup and no napkins. So, I go inside. A worker is steadily walking passed me. No one is at the counter. He passes me once again and finally gave me eye contact and right when I was gonna ask for ketchup and napkins, he says,” I’ll go find someone to come help you.” I stood there for about 10 minutes and finally gave up, No one ever came to help. I get to my truck, open up my burger and it was the sloppiest burger ever! I took two bites and threw it away. Tasted very disgusting. Spent $50 and...
Read moreI’m so disappointed and dissatisfied. Everything we order was bad down to the drinks. We’ll start off with the French fries. They were cold and hard some were soggy like they had sat there for the last hour. And the burgers were so unbelievably greasy. It was like they were dipped in the fry bat and then wrapped so freaking tight it looked like someone stepped on my burger. Now we’re at the sweet tea or should I say sheet tea, anyways it was hot and the ice was melted, AND THERE WERE GLOBS OF UNDISSOLVED SUGAR. Imagine chewing on sand yeah freaking gross. Mind you this is all on THE SECOND DAY THEY’RE OPEN. And upon trying to contact the store via phone it repeatedly goes to voicemail forcing you to go back through there ungodly long lines which consists of 4 lanes backed up to the road. Yeah on top of that they’re extremely slow at taking orders and getting them out which would explain why they’re so backed up constantly. This is a brand new restaurant and y’all can’t even make the food and drinks correctly on the second day after someone sits patiently in your line for an hour. UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. The true definition of a 1 star, 0 if possible burger joint. Don’t waste your time or your money you’ll be disappointed. Update they’ve been open for awhile now and have improved some they’re still mid tier fast...
