I normally do not write hotel reviews as mostly my experiences are fair to good. However, this experience was far from that: below are a laundry list of issues we had during our 3 night stay:
When booking online, it was not noted that the Hotel was under construction (renovations).
When booking online, it was not noted that the room we were in 2 Queen, with bed psuedo suite) was not fully complete:
Did not have a working phone, only half of the electrical outlets worked, only 1 TV although online during booking showed 2 (not the end of the world, but not as advertised)
Did not have hot water one day, did not have a working TV one day
AC did not work - first night manager came to room to "reset" AC and it helped a little, next 2 nights were horrible
Asked for a new room - told there was none - didn't offer a Fan for our room until we specifically asked for one on our own
Laundry half worked - washing machine OK, dryer did not function
Was told they were still having breakfast, but when came down - door closed with sign saying for Employees Only
Was not informed that rooms would not be cleaned daily unless specifically requested
Room did not have a trash can - had to request a trash can from manager
Had to go get our own towels from front desk every day since no cleaning and no working phone
Pool was "out of order" and "green" not sure if this was COVID thing our not, but i woudl expect even it COVID you would want it to look good
Construction ongoing on ground floor - work out facilities were being used to store materials for construction so not available
I realize many of the issues were probably related to "construction" but if that had been communicated online, i would have likely chosen another hotel
I am currently and IHG Platinum member and have had good experiences with Holiday Inn Expresses previously.
There was no recognition of me being a platinum member and quite frankly it seemed to me that I was looked at as a "bother" for asking questions.
All I received from the front desk personnel, was I can give you some loyalty points - didn't want points, wanted a room that was even half way to our expectations - and only got that while...
Read moreThis hotel needed to be revamped but it was not on the web site that the hotel was UNDER remodel. We were coming to Searcy because I was having surgery the next morning. I needed peace and quiet to prepare and could not believe the stacks of building supplies and equipment. The only thing they did right was to place good placement as what door to go into to sign in. Except finding the office to sign in was not so easy. I was checking each room as I went by finally found it. Only one person in the room and she acted as though I was intruding and didn't seem to be sure of the correct process. They now put a $25 hold onto your credit card before processing the payment the next morning. I told her I did not know about the construction and she was quick to say it was on the web site. Well I didn't see it. She said it was there. I let her know I was not happy about the lack of notice of construction. It was very difficult to find a luggage cart and bring the luggage in. There was sheetrock dust everywhere. We were put on the third floor and what I didn't know and what I was not told was that they were remodeling the fourth floor. The noise from the fourth floor was as if a herd of elephants were running right on top of my room. I called the front desk and was told then that they were working on that floor. I could not believe they put us right under the construction. I tried to make the best of it and said that it was almost five so it should quieten down. She let me know that they would be working until eight pm. I couldn't believe it. I then check to see how I missed the notice of the construction on the web site. It was not on the main IHG web site it was on the hotel's web site. I never book on the individual hotel web site I always book on the main IHG web site. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND staying at this hotel until they have finished the construction. I couldn't tell if our floor had been remodeled so if it had they are not doing a...
Read moreI arrived 12/30 after driving 10hrs was tired was given four different rooms all the rooms where nasty the guy working the front desk was really nice. Upon getting the fourth room I decided to just clean it myself. Each room had the same problem sheets stain or have hair. Bathroom tub and wall was nasty with hair and dirt. Toilet in the fourth room had stuff floating in the toilet you could stains in the toilet. I ask for cleaning solution to clean the room myself. I took pictures of the forth room showed them to the front desk clerk he sent them to the manager while I stood in front of him so the manager was full aware of what was going on he spoke to her in front of me. I was told I would be compensated for my stay I use points and cash and points were supposed to be added back to my account for me having to clean the room. I have yet to receive those points almost a week later. Outside of it being covid just the point of going into rooms that were half clean if clean at all after someone else is discussing and this hotel didn't stand up the quality I am use to. I am highly disappointed. The fact that I wasnt compensated as I was told I would made it worse. I will never stay at this hotel again. It was not just my room nasty upon arriving there was food stroll outside it was breakfast food thats served at the hotel I got there at 8pm at night no one got that up. First impression are everything once I saw that I was concern about how clean the inside was. The floors were nasty, the hallway was nasty, the elevators was nasty. I understand that the hotel was short staff however areas such as the rooms that were assign to someone to clean that was there makes no sense that they didnt do their job it was just the...
