🌿 Review: Both Ways Café – Seattle’s Hidden Brunch Gem Near Seward Park
I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with brunch today — but Both Ways Café reminded me that food made with love still exists. 🥂✨
First of all, let’s talk about the mimosa. 🍊 One sip, and I knew this place understands balance — not just in flavor, but in generosity. While most restaurants pour like they’re rationing sunshine, Both Ways serves joy by the glass. This isn’t a splash of champagne; it’s a celebration. 🍾
The food? Honest, soulful, and cooked like someone actually cares how your morning started. I had the special — spam, garlic rice, and furikake eggs — and it transported me straight back to island mornings and comfort kitchens. The quiche had flavor (imagine that!), buttery crust, and warmth in every bite.
The décor feels lived-in and loved: a neighborhood treasure full of nostalgia, where you half expect your favorite commercial jingle to start playing. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe, and remember that simple joy still has a seat at the table.
If you’re tired of overpriced brunches that forget the “soul” part — come here. You’ll leave with a full belly, a lighter heart, and the sense that kindness is still on the menu. 💛

Read moreArrived around 10AM on a Saturday this past weekend (end of April) and waited 40 minutes for a four top. I think the wait time was exacerbated by a medium size group (6 - 8 people) who stayed well after they were finished eating, simply conversing. In a joint this small, a group of that size consumes a significant proportion of the seating.
Although it was a bit too cold and drizzly, it appears that they have ~5 picnic tables for outdoor seating that could also be used when the weather permits.
All four people in our group really enjoyed the food. My wife also really enjoyed her pomegranate mimosa. I finished off my daughter's unfinished oatmeal and I enjoyed it (it was topped with brown sugar, banana slices and almonds).
Baby/kid friendly (offer half portions of regular menu items and have high-chairs available).
Only parking available is street parking, but open spots were abundant...
