What an amazing place! My family and I stopped by DCB for the first time recently and we had such an awesome time. I should start off by admitting I've never been much of a sour beer drinker. I consider myself more of a traditionalist and typically look for light lagers (Czech pilsners, German kolsch, etc.), and tend to stay away from all beer with fruit in it. So when we walked into DCB and I saw the menu was predominantly sours, I was hesitant to even stick around- but wow am I glad we did! I ordered a flight of sours (with a kolsch thrown in) and was truly blown away by how amazing they all were. The entire flight was simply perfection. My favorite actually ended up being the Forager, a sour with fruit (huckleberry) in it. Who knew! Not only was the beer awesome but so too was the barkeep with us that night. He was so friendly and hospitable and chatted with us all night and even comped some snacks for our son. The moral of the story is this: if you are at all hesitant to try DCB because they serve sours, don't be. Go anyways and give them a shot. You won't regret it! My only regret is that we no longer live in Seattle and cannot visit...
Read moreIgnore the negative connotations; Dirty Couch Brewing is not a dirty brewery. Yes, this is another Seattle brewery that is focused on sours and wild fermentation, but again it was highly recommended by our beer friends in Seattle. This fantastic stop has a ton of highly rated beers of varying degrees of tart and prismatic colors. Our favorite two beers, “Rampant Sour Red” and “Armchair Philosopher,” are both bold and rich in flavor. “Rampant Sour Red” is a Flanders-inspired sour red ale, while “Armchair Philosopher” is a wine barrel aged braggot brewed with honey. While it wasn’t the first braggot of the trip, Armchair Philosopher’s distinct profile was a...
Read moreThis is the first time I've been to a brewery I disliked in Seattle. Not just for the beer but the "service" was absolutely atrocious. I tried 2 sours: the first tasted like anchovies & the second tasted like dirty couch, it was the 4 non resolute blondes. I then tried a third, beer switched to pilsner and it was also very disgusting. I split all three beers with my wife who also didnt like any of them. It's out of the way, so we chose to leave especially since it was not busy and the bartender was very unhelpful, seemed to have vitriol towards me or something else is making him miserable. I highly...
