It's hard to make a sandwich stand out from the rest when comparing sandwich shops for lunch or even breakfast and I have never really been a fan of sandwiches but I LOVE this place!! If I lived closer I would eat here a few days a week! I had a BLTA on sourdough and it was GREAT! but not only is the food good and the employees all treat you like they are life long friends of yours but the inside is decorated like your eating in their living room despite the fact there are 8 or so tables and chairs!! It is warm and inviting. They have many posters if plays and festivals ECT on the walls that are all CURRENT! which I have never really seen before usually when I see a poster or flyer for a play or marathon it's from a couple years ago and looks aged and like junk but these are all for things to do in the coming weekends. The furniture is an eclectic collection of mismatched chairs and couches but not in an obvious 'I went to Value Village' kind of way and the tables are large repurposed spools that were once used for large wire or rope. Other than the counter with the plastic 'wall' ( left over from COVID requirements) and the cash register, no part of this place feels like a restaurant it really feels like you have stopped by a friend's house to have lunch! It also has an espresso stand inside that has a drive thru window so those mornings you are in a rush u can do drive up to the window and grab a latte and breakfast sandwich on your way thru. They do have a side deck with seating outside that has plenty of shade for those odd days we have the sun out. I really can not say enough about this place. From what I saw all the ingredients are fresh and they have found a way to make a bacon lettuce tomato with avacado taste better than anywhere else using the same recipe. The only thing I can think of is they have a secret ingredient, regardless of how silly this is going to sound it's the only thing I can come up with but they really do make their food with love and you can really taste it!
If you are ever in Ballard or Magnolia, heck if you are with in 30 miles and you want a sandwich you've...
Read moreI've lived in Magnolia my entire life. For years I walked and drove by this little cafe going to school or work and always wondered what the food was like. One day after school I made up my mind to eat there. First off the staff is incredibly nice and down to earth. When I ate there I noticed that they knew many of the customers by name. There were couches and seats everywhere, it felt comfy and comforting. I got a whopping foot long Philly Cheese steak, it definitely was huge and I felt like I was going to burst after having it (I've only had six inch sandwiches since) but it was sooo good!
I find myself there once every week or so and the staff are incredibly nice and once when I was walking by there the owner recognized me and we had a nice chat where he jokingly asked why I wasn't in the store that week.
If you want good food, great service and wonderful people who will remember your name then I would highly suggest...
Read moreMy breakfast spot! Their breakfast sandwiches are filling and I usually eat half and save the rest for later. My fave is the bacon (or sausage), egg and cheese on a bagel. I need my hot breakfast! Lunch sandwiches and soups are tasty too. Different soup each day. My faves are Philly cheesesteak, broccoli cheese soup and wonton soup. PROS: -location: easy for me to call in and pick up -service: mom and pop shop to the core and always service with a smile -consistent quality: food is HOT and quality is consistent
Side note: my dog escaped my yard once and I was horrified thinking she was lost or run over by a car. After searching all over the neighborhood, I see Sunny outside the Blue Heron with my pup! My dog escaped and ran to Blue Heron and sat outside their door. Must be the...
