Best brewery in the city. American Ginger Wheat is balanced with a good bite. Belgian Strong is very much in the style, sweet, strong, clean, great. Daybreak IPA, their piney, lemony IPA is polished and not overbearing. Rye stout is rich and chocolatey, but with great balance, not too sweet or bitter. The Sunday Randall (a great idea) is Dark Mild with Coconut and Cacao nibs. Yummy, and easy drinking. Weizenbock is not Aventinus, but it is smack in the middle of the style, and quite good. Belgian Stout has good subtle roast, great body, easy finish. Quaddammnit is good, not great. Most of these soften noticably with warmth, losing some bubble and charm, exceptions are the Belgian Stout, the Quad, the Belgian Strong, Rye Stout. Another IPA is fairly middle of the road, older style, but still absolutely drinkable. The only enemy to Flying Lion is not drinking the beer fast enough. Nothing was mind blowing, but every single beer was good, and stylistically...
Read moreOne of the best breweries here in Seattle. I wonder why it took me so long to explore this brewery here on Rainier Ave. we stopped by on a Friday evening with 8 other friends and were luck to get a table here. We loved their Levitator Doppleback, Sunday Gold Lager, Sour cherry Asian Perry, Belgian Quaddammit. Thats all we ordered but my friends loved everything they ordered too. The brewery is small and cozy. There is some outdoor seating and some indoor space. This place is hustling with people especially on weekends. We loved the vibe and coupled with great beers this is a perfect place to enjoy and welcome the weekend or any weekday I am certain.
They are dog and kids friendly. They dont have a kitchen but you can bring your own food or order in from restos near by. Parking can be a pain but you will find street parking for sure. All in all I will be back here for more and...
Read moreAs far as their selection goes, I love this brewery. They always have a big list with a little bit of everything and they make it good. They make solid fresh hop and Marzen beers in the fall. They have a good local crowd and I always love coming here after I play a local soccer game on a weekday night. My only complaint is that the prices are $9-$12 for a pint! This might be partially because they don't take tips here, but still that is a lot for even a craft micro beer. Most recently, I ordered 3 smaller 10 oz schooner sizes of beer so I could taste more beers and still be able to drive home, and for the 10 ounce beers it was only $1 less for $8-$11 per glass! Even with an included tip, $27 for not even 2 full pints of...
