I can't say enough about this florist. The entire team worked so hard to make sure the flowers were absolutely perfect and that the 10 foot bear made it. I literally called about 7 different florists there in Seattle and they ALL said they couldn't make the flowers the way I wanted them. And no other florist would deliver the 10 foot bear. I was told by other florists they would have to rent a large van for them just to deliver the flowers and bear. Although I didn't mind paying for the florists to rent a van, Columbia City Bouquet was the ONLY florist who who had no problem creating the flowers EXACTLY the way I wanted and they had no problem delivering the bear. No other florist would. And they didn't need a "special" van to do so. I'm in Florida and didn't get to see the flowers and bear first hand so they sent me photos!!! I couldn't ask for anything more. I want to share them here. All I can say is if you have ANY event that you want the most beautiful flowers you've ever seen and you want them made YOUR way and have some "unique" requests, Don't go anywhere else. I spent HOURS and numerous calls to florists all over Seattle and it only ended up in frustration and disappointment. I was at the point of giving up on this dream. Even one OWNER (of another florist) even mocked me and told me my 10 foot bear was all but stupid. Just ridiculous. And that was the OWNER. Columbia City Bouquet got it from the FIRST phone call I made to them. I told them what I wanted and how I wanted it and the extras and they made it happen. If your planning any special event a wedding or something magical and you want everything to be just the way you dream of this is the florist for you. My happiness and satisfaction with this florist is off the charts!!!! Thank you Columbia...

After consulting together if they could do that by Wednesday (May 7th) because Mother's Day was coming up & they were going to be busier -- one of them started taking my order, showed me 2 wrist corsages (very pretty mini-roses) and then she informed me they were designers so it's up to them to create them (duh, that's why I'm telling you my preferences & colors) and that's the "modern way" to do it these days (or something to that effect). What, was my gray hair suggesting I was confused what a florist's job is??? Discovering this was for a wedding, she was done with me -- directing me to the website & suggesting I use a la carte online to do my ordering because all their wedding flowers are done that way, starting at $5000. When I dryly said, "Really? For a small bouquet, 3 corsages & a boutonniere?" She quipped, "Well, all weddings are different." Yes, yes, they are & I won't be referring anyone to you for their floral arrangements in the future. I have been a wedding planner & done events where I worked closely with a florist to create wonderful venues but, I was never treated so callously & pretentiously. I'm an artist & I can tell you from personal experience -- there is no such thing as "we can't do it" in design. Certainly saying so shows a lack of creativity & maybe the owner is better at this than her hired help. I wouldn't know. I have received several lovely bouquets from this florist from out of state friends & relatives over the years because I have recommended them because I like to support local businesses. I...
Read moreI walked into this flower shop with my two daughters after having breakfast at Geraldine’s directly across the street. I was so excited to find a local shop that sold plants and flowers as I just moved here with my family and I wanted to add some natural decor to our new home. We live a block away from the shop & I was looking forward to making this one our new plant shop. However, when we walked in the two associates looked at my daughters and I and didn’t acknowledge us at all. They turned away without greeting us and continued their conversation. There wasn’t a “good morning” or even a “how may we help you?” In many shops, store associates will at least acknowledge children. I browsed around and even came closer to their counter and still there was nothing until I finally just said, “good morning.” I am confused by this behavior as their reviews for seem to be very high. I can only assume that we weren’t greeted because of our race. I’ve encountered this many times where sales associates assume that Black customers aren’t going to buy anything so the effort of good customer service is useless. I hope this shop does better...
