I appreciate that along with the remodel of the Nordic Museum they put importance on including a quality café to bolster the museum experience. Unfortunately, while Nordic immigrants have a deep history in Seattle, places that serve Nordic foods are few and far between. Freya is a nice addition to Nordic food in the area. They have a small selection of dishes but they are good representation of some of the foods popular in the Nordic countries. I ordered one of the Danish dogs which is their take on a Danish hot dog. I’ve been to Copenhagen and Danish hot dogs are delicious especially with the remoulade and fried onions. Freya Café’s version I believe uses PNW ingredients and combines it nicely with the Danish concept. The Uli’s sausage was tasty and the curry mayo sauce added mellow spice. The pretzel bun rounded out the flavors nicely as well. As a side note, the older gentleman who brought the food out seemed very kind and personable as well.
