Waffles were amazing, counter service was cold. The two of us got a Washington waffle and a cobbler waffle, I'd definitely recommend either. The Apple butter on the Washington was a perfect balance with the melted cheese and pancetta, it tasted homemade. The cobbler was everything you'd want in a sweet waffle. Our lattes were also great, I had a lavender honey latte. The woman behind the counter seemed peeved to be taking our order and acted as though we were inconveniencing her as well as talking down to my friend as she was explaining something, her inflection just seemed demeaning like she was talking to a child. I then watched her wave a finger back in fourth in another customer's face and roll her eyes at another, so at least it wasn't special treatment for just me and my friend. The woman who made and brought us our waffles seemed incredibly kind and thoughtful so at least the food is made with love lol. All in all, I would consider going back to try more of the menu because the food was...
Read moreFun sandwiches and food. My veggie breakfast sandwich was on a cheddar herb scone which I did not find to be especially preferable, as the scone was too thick and dry for the contents on the sandwich. It also didn't hold together that well. There was some sort of overly sweet tomato jam that I didn't like, but I could see how someone might enjoy the flavor contrast of savory eggs and cheese and sweet jam. My husband got a blueberry streusel waffle that was absolutely amazing. The coffee was good, as I ordered a quad shot 12oz Americano. The espresso seemed like a medium roast, could have been a blend with some African beans; there was a fruity quality to it that I like. Don't come here if you don't own a dog and don't want dog hair floating around while you eat. It was one of the things I didn't like that much, since I don't own a dog and there were a ton of dogs in there. It was like eating at a dog park. Kind of weird, but I could see how dog owners...
Read moreThis is an unpretentious experience with unique cafe options. We got the tart waffle w/ the breakfast combo, and a bacon cheddar scone sandwich. I loved how the waffle and scone had some texture, crispy edges are KEY and they executed well on both. I thought the tart waffle toppings could’ve stood out more, the jam especially didn’t strike me as anything special compared to storebought, but it was still good. Eggs and bacon on the side were both great, eggs were cheesy and nicely seasoned, and bacon had some crisp and some chew. I like that they offer Turkish coffee, it’s a nice change of pace. The scone sandwich was a solid hearty breakfast sandwich with good flavor in the scone. I think if I lived nearby this would be a good easy, simple, reliable option. Probably wouldn’t drive here as a destination, unless I was meeting a Ballard friend and wanted to avoid the hullabaloo of...
