Golden Wheat is a quaint, charming little spot, perfect for a weekend breakfast with friends, a bulk order of baked goods to go, or a working weekday morning utilizing their free Wi-Fi. The staff is kind and friendly with the locals.

I started my breakfast with a pork and cheese pupusa, a horchata latte, and a biscotti cookie. I was a little disappointed to see my pupusa come out of a microwave, rather than off a hot griddle, but it was still tasty. The biscotti is perfectly soft and sweet dipped in the horchata latte, which itself is unique and balanced.

Later in the morning I tried the burrito Mexican and a chicken tamale. The tamale is good, but the burrito is excellent! It's rolled fresh with generous portions of delicious, spiced meat.

I also tried a host of baked goods. My favorites are the blueberry muffin and the coffee cake, both of which are soft and moist with a deep flavor. They remind me of a pan dulce — not too sweet but very satisfying.

Some other highlights for me are the ginger molasses cookie, which tastes like it's made with fresh ginger — yum! — and the pecan sticky bun, which is rich and...

Embarrassingly, we’ve lived in the Central District for six years and had not yet tried Golden Wheat. This feels like the kind of gem that could disappear if not enough folks support it and guess what, once you try it, you’ll want to go here all the time.

My wife and I walked up to get some baked goods and ended up getting a loaf of sourdough (so soft, so yum), a couple croissants (best one I’ve had in Seattle), a croissant breakfast sandwich (so big and delicious), and a horchata latte (I’m addicted, I think).

The best past though? The two sweet ladies that were efficiently and kindly doing it all - taking orders, making lattes, baking croissants, and even making sure the free samples were being served up.

Oh yea, we...

Inside the Golden Wheat Bakery the smell of fresh baked goods pulls you in. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Cozy vibes, friendly service, and the kind of bakery that makes you want to become a regular.

I grabbed the blueberry coffee cake and—wow. Moist doesn't even begin to cover it. Soft, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth perfection with juicy bursts of blueberry and a crumb topping that was chef’s kiss. It tasted homemade in the best way. Cozy, comforting, and totally worth a return trip.

Golden Wheat Bakery, is a hidden gem tucked away but unforgettable. From blueberry coffee cake to croissants, every item has that homemade-with-love energy. A gem...

The cute little bakery is located between 30th and Cherry St. It has a fusion of Mexican flares. I came in early today the place is pretty quiet but is probably bc is after 2 pm. The gal helped me seem very nice. The pastries didn't seem so fresh to me so I didn't want to buy much of anything. I got a club sandwich and a cookie for my niece. The coconut cookie looks tasty so I got one to try. It was pretty moist and delicious. Not overly coconut. The price seems high to me. Especially on the croissant. If you live in the area and want to support a local business, check them out.
