This is definitely one of the cooler libraries not only is it have a really old part but they’ve had an addition that totally transforms this place in an amazing space KCLS is great at making all their libraries fit its community that they serve. The addition is underground you can’t tell it’s there you got to see this amazing library.

The Douglass-Truth library is named after Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth and is such a nice part of the community. I really like the architecture here, the librarians are really nice. It’s also spacious, and the library is open and clean. Definitely worth visiting.

The cpu & keyboard ain't changed in 10 years. You can't even hook your earphones or usb up to the cpu. There's no room to hardly do anything. No wonder the kids are out hanging in streets? Seattle Public Library never updates they software.

I've been going for the last 3 months and pretty much every time teenagers are hanging out there. they play video games and shout, play basket ball inside, one time some kids had airsoft guns and shot around the entrance, leaving small plastic balls every where. one time it was water guns and they shot everyone. Today i went to pick up some books for my 1 yo and one of those kids threw small fireworks at me. I defended myself and got called out by the security for being rude... Like throwing fireworks in a library is normal.... Won't be going there anymore, it's a circus and the kids of the neighborhood are just left there and behave...

There I was, in a hurry again! I needed some copy's PRONTO and Marshall was there to take over. He saw I was basically incapable of making copies using their crazy computers. Waiting while Marshall saved the day, I noticed the fantastic energy and coolness of the library. The weather was hot and the library was cool. I wish all the libraries were like this one in Seattle, however I can say without a doubt Seattle is doing its best when it comes to their libraries. Shout out to Marshall. I really appreciate you helping me, you truly...

come for the african american collection, stay for the historic building with beautiful renovations. this branch is one of my favorite in the SPL system. black community organizers fought to keep this branch up and running, and their love & dedication shows. fully wheelchair accessible (including entrances, restrooms, and seating), plus an indoor and outdoor bookdrop. free, unlimited wifi that you can use without having to ask for a password. a lively,...
