I was just hung up on when I called to complain about my, suppose to be, Pork Teriyaki. Honestly I can't believe they let that "food" go out of the kitchen. I am not sure what the meat was! It was thin sliced, tough, no flavor, dry pieces of some type of meat. There was definitely no Teriyaki sauce involved with the Pork Teriyaki. They had also fried up a large amount of sliced onion and mixed it in with the mystery meat. The onions were greasy but the meat was dry. The meal was totally unedible. I paid $20. I left the woman who just hung up on me $3 tip. This was my first visit to this place and I will never go back. I've had good Teriyaki many times at OTHER Teriyaki places around Seattle. I've never had a meal like this. It really was unedible. That is why I decided to call. When I called to make a complaint and try to find out what happened instead of an explanation or an apology I am told she doesn't have to listen to my complaint and she doesn't like my tone. Then she hangs up. Now she's the victim! Better her than me. Okay, I'm out 20 bucks, stuck with an unedible dinner, and I'm hungry. Not really the end of the world. Hopefully my review will alert anyone looking for a place to run and grab Teriyaki. Find another place to buy Teriyaki! There are a couple good Teriyaki places nearby. But, if you do end up here...look at the food before you leave! That was the mistake I made. I just grabbed the bag and ran off to pickup a few things before I went home to eat. I can learn from my mistake and from her mistake. That's why I...
Read moreTL;DR: Disappointing.
A friend was really excited to take me to Ichiro so I was primed to like them. Sadly, what they served was just not good.
The "beef teriyaki" was really sukiyaki/gyudon - wet, steamed beef and onions with some teriyaki flavor. The chicken teriyaki tasted like it had been par-cooked earlier in the day so by the time I got it hot off the grill it was hard, dry, and rubbery.
The salad was good, but I like my dressing heavy and tart, so others may not like that. The calamari was just ok, my companion was not impressed.
The sushi rice was unfortunately hard. Just slightly undercooked - though overall we enjoyed the quality of the fish in both rolls we had. The cuts and the freshness were both great, if not for that undercooked rice.
The interior of the restaurant is cramped and simplistic. It looked like someone tried to break in overnight so the front door was smashed. Meanwhile, the front of the restaurant was overloaded with cases of sodas. The cleanliness was tough to judge because they were so busy.
Service, was the high point. Staff were friend and courteous. They were also incredibly busy with takeout orders.
For the price, which I would consider very expensive, I won't be back. That wet limp beef was a...
Read moreI will not come back here and I do not recommend eating here. I had high hopes given the reviews but was completely disappointed. There was nothing special about the food. We ordered two things: a chicken teriyaki and California roll combination, but substituted the California roll for a vegetarian roll, and an udon and California roll combination. The vegetarian roll turned out not to be vegetarian, but had shrimp in it. The udon was pretty plain, just noodles in soup with no veggies or any other ingredients.
The reason I will not come back is because of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the overpriced food. The table was not clean when we sat down as there was someone else’s hair visibly there. When one of my dishes arrived there was clearly food remnants on the side of the plate. It just does not seem like they prioritize cleanliness here. As for the overpriced food, we ended up getting upcharged for the substituted California roll, which would have been fine had they said so. There are other places I would recommend over this restaurant with better quality food at a better price. Overall, I just do not think the quality of the food and the overall experience justifies the prices that...
