I was initially excited to try this place as it is conveniently located near my house. The atmosphere is what you would expect, the customer service was satisfactory. They bring you chips and salsa to your table and I will say that although not very spicy, the salsa did have some good flavor. The food on the other hand could use some improvements. Maybe I'm just spoiled because my grandma made amazing homemade Mexican food daily. I was not very impressed with my Chile Relleno. The batter around the Chile Relleno was a little different than what I am used to, it wasn't your traditional egg batter, it was different and had no spice to it was so ever. I was extremely disappointed to find out that the taco shells are store bought and not homemade. This made it very difficult to finish the tacos, my fiance took 1 bite and was done. Not everything was unsatisfactory, the rice was really good and the re-fried beans had good flavor as well. It's unfortunate for the name as I will never come here for Margaritas again, I ordered 2 flavored house margaritas as did my fiance and although they were good they were not very strong at all. We were surprised when we got the bill to find that each margarita was over $10. Not worth it at all. I've been to a couple of other locations in the area with stronger, cheaper, better drinks. I only finished half of my meal and my fiance only finished about 1/4 of his meal and decided we did not want the leftovers which is unusual for us. In a nutshell, not my favorite Mexican food joint, will not be returning by choice,...

The final bill was less than I expected which was nice. It was early afternoon and there were a handful of guests but you wouldn't know it because the booths are cavernous, people were either engaged in quiet conversation or tucking in to their meal. The lounge, which has old bones, felt like a living memory. A scented whisper of stale tobacco was imbued within the walls. I could imagine some shady deals going on in there in times past.
Today I'd say was a four star experience. I rated it 3 star based on an experience a few years ago. The mole sauce then was extremely sweet and thick like hot peanut butter pudding. It was a weekend dinner date and I was very hungry. There were a variety of problems with that night. Today's experience redeemed their portion of responsibility (in my internal judicial system).
But that mole sauce! I hope it...

It was eariliy empty. Bar was sticky even though no one was doing anything. They asked me if I was watching the TV I was clearly watching so they could turn on a game that didn't start for 2 more hours. That's nitpicking, but still, read the room. My 3 cheap gas station beers costs 19.85. If the owner wants more customers and needs money to run the joint, make a dollar beer not 6 and don't raise the prices because people aren't coming. They even wrote in pen ". 95" to all the items.. My mother went there 3 years ago and told me that it sucks and the food was bad. I doubt she wrote a review so I'm here on her behalf as well. It's saving grace of 1 star is that most of the employees were very welcoming. I used to run a Mexican restaurant that was cheap and fun, PACKED, and got featured in magazines. This...
