Seattle | Pho Obsession: 11 Bowls in 3 Weeks

My friend brought me here because she loves her hot and sour Thai noodle soup and the service. As soon as we walked in I understood what she meant about the service. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. They remembered her preferences -- which is always a good sign. She ordered a fresh avocado smoothie, and it was truly delicious. Not made of powder but actual fresh avocados and choice of dairy or non-dairy. It was on her recommendation that I tried the hot and sour Thai noodle soup but instead of Thai noodles she recommended the pho noodles. She went with the vegetable broth and the tofu to keep things vegetarian and I opted for the beef broth and the rare steak slices for the flavor. The soup was both refreshing and flavorful, something that it takes a really good spicy and sour soup to pull off. (Not to be mistaken for the Chinese hot and sour soup, which is an entirely different flavor.) I can see why this is a regular go to pho spot for my friend. North of 145th on Aurora. This spot has access through Aurora coming south, as well as Whitman Avenue. Plenty of comfortable seating. Fish tank also interesting to view.

July 2023: A little disappointed! I ordered the exact item about a year later and it was not nearly as good. There was little to no basil and notably fewer vegetables. Perhaps this was a one-off so I didn't change my rating but bummed as I don't eat out often and this was a place I considered to be reliably consistent. Note: this was also my first time trying delivery and ordering on a Friday night. June 2022: Have been coming here for years and recently tried their take-out. AMAZING. Could not be more pleased with the quantity and quality. They included so many vegetables in their combo vermicelli bowl (bún)-- you can't see it from the photo but theres a ton of cucumber and bean sprouts under that layer of basil and lettuce--and it all was so fresh and satisfying! Their sauce was not too fishy (though I wouldn't have minded that) and everything was cooked to perfection.

A local classic! Pho Tic Tac has some of the best beef pho around and their noodle dishes may not look the best, but the taste is unparalleled!

My brother loves pho, like, LOVES pho, okay. And the 6th was his birthday and he wasn't sure what he wanted, so I looked up the closest five pho places to us and once we saw Pho Tic Tac, the competition wasn't even close.

We immediately placed an order for their well cooked beef pho (he's immunocompromised, doctor's orders) and I was starving so I threw in a beef chow mein order. It was done fast, we picked it up and took it home to celebrate!

Bliss! The beef for both of us was perfect, no stringy bits, just perfectly thoroughly cooked beef. No pink bits yet somehow not overcooked and zero burnt bits, it was so pleasant to put in my mouth.

I absolutely loved my dish, even though the noodles were anemic (although delightfully spicy!) and the vegetables relied heavily on onion and broccoli. A wider variety of veggies would be nice, as well as more traditional chow mein noodles, but eh, they're a Vietnamese-American restaurant not a Chinese-American restaurant, so I get it. I just love vegetables and in that sauce, sooo many things would taste amazing!

I had the lemongrass chicken here years ago for lunch with a friend and we had such a wonderful time I'm afraid I have zero memories of the food! Clearly, I need to try it again. A good lemongrass chicken is worth the wait!

My brother practically inhaled his soup, but from the glimpses I got, it looked and smelled incredible! It got a solid two thumbs up from the birthday boy! Many thanks to Pho Tic Tac for helping us make his day a special one, even though it was...

Where do I begin???

  1. customer service..awefull! How you ask? When you eat Pho, a side dish of been sprouts and other green garnish goes with the meal. Our bean sprout not only looks old and brown but dried. Here is the kicker, the table across from us got theirs at the same time as ours but their been sprouts were whiter, feshier and full of life. Long story short, the waitress came and argued with us in broken english.." Sir I bring you another plate of bean sprout and it looks the same..you see? We serve new sprout to everyone." My wife had to jump in and told her .."excuse me but NO they do not look the same, the one you just brought out is fresher than the one that was served to us." Anyhow..the point is this and hope you all agree..when you are in a restaurant business, you are suppose to serve FRESH products, NO excuses! And on top of that ..Don't argue with a paying customer over little issue. A tiny plate of bean sprouts cost about .25-.50? Do you really want to argue with a customer over such amount? The cost of a lost customer out weight that amount 100 times over!!! Plus tip money and bad reviews!

Food? We ordered:

  1. spring roll - uneatable.. Sauce was gross and it came apart.
  2. egg roll - crunchy and tasty.
  3. vegie Pho - no flavor even with beef broth.
  4. special pho - Bland and meat quality is horrible. Could not finish it.

Bottom line..take your business to another Pho restaurant and there are lots if them along the road. We won't ever return to an establishment that serves old vegie and meat and then have the audacity to argue with a...
