This has become one of my favorite places away from home. I'm not usually a bar person, but the atmosphere, the patrons, and the staff are so great that I just keep coming back. It's a welcoming and safe space to exist for many of us who struggle to find that elsewhere.
The bar itself is decorated with art from local artists, which just warms this artist's heart.
There's a pool table, darts, and shelves with board games for people to enjoy. There's often music of some kind going on, whether it's open mics, open jams, karaoke, or live bands.
The kitchen isn't opened back up yet, so I can't rate the food, but I know that the owner (who is also great) is working on getting that resolved. I've heard great things about the food that was available in the past, so I'm confident it will be great once the kitchen is up and running again.
The Hidden Door is dog friendly, so bring your human and dog friends. It's often loud because of the music, so just be aware of that if your human or dog friends are sensitive to loud music.
I'd seriously give this place more than 5 stars if I could. I love The...

This is not my first time visiting this establishment.
However, I have concluded that this may not be a safe or welcoming space for minorities, especially the LGBTQA+ community.
The musician tonight had free reign of the microphone for the entire time I was there. About five songs into my visit, a patron had a "funny idea" to request WAP from Megan Thee Stallion as they passed through the room from the smoking patio to the bathroom. The musician claimed he had never heard of the song. However, the song eventually progressed into him not wanting trans WAP and repeating his disgust for trans WAP over and over.
I felt very uncomfortable for myself and my friends, so I complained to the bartender, who had "no idea what I was talking about" which is plausible because the music was dismissible.
This was completely inappropriate. If this is the owners' intention, this is not a space safe for minorities, especially for my friends who...
Read moreUpon walking in I noticed a corner area that looked like it was set up as a stage for maybe bands or open mic. There were a few couches and table areas and a nicely lit bar. We came in to try this place and give the food a try because it said BBQ. The kitchen was supposed to open at 3:00 at 3:30 we asked to order food but the cooks were not there yet. At about 4:00 the cooks walked in we then received our food about 15 minutes later. The brisket was dry and the onion rings were over fried. Needless to say we were disappointed. One of my friends did order a mixed drink which was absolutely delicious and we ordered a beer. The bartender was extremely friendly and personable. She handled our objections very well and was willing to hear any feedback that we had. I'm not sure we will be back for the food however we make come back for a drink one day. Overall the whole trip took us almost 2 hours total and our hope was that we could be in and out...
