The customer service is a disaster to say the least. In the website, they state that you can get in contact with them via phone, text message or email. Guess what? They won't reply either one. You can try for days with no luck. My Spanish students and I tried to get a reservation with them for 8 people and at the end I had to stop by to talk to them in person. Once there, I was simply denied the option because they needed more time in advance for them to plan having a group in their business. When I told them that we have been trying to reach them for almost a week, their response was: well, we are a small business and we are very busy! What? They did not seem interested at all in having people over spending money in their business, let alone offer an alternative or other option i.e., maybe come with the group at a different time, different day, etc. NOTHING! I was shocked at the lack of interest and poor customer service these people had. So please, do not be surprised if they treat you badly if you dare to stop by and you are not one of these two: 1) an American student learning Spanish or 2) an European Spanish (I am a latina and could feel how the waitress did not even try to be welcoming to us as soon as she heard my accent, even if my husband was with me and is actually from SPAIN). No wonder why they are still a small business. A business will only grow when you know how to treat...
Read moreThis is an AMAZING idea, and I'm so happy this cafe opened in Seattle!! I'm currently studying Spanish at the University of Washington, so I was excited to hear about this. I went here for coffee with a friend a couple months ago (right when they opened) and the staff was super friendly & the space is super cute with Spanish signs, books and a lovely seating area. I know "only Spanish" can be a little intimidating if you're not familiar with the language, but that's why it's a perfect place to step out of your comfort zone and practice your Spanish skills! I honestly love that it's "No English"- just makes it so much fun and really highlights the purpose. The United States is now the second country with the most Spanish speakers after Mexico and is an extremely important language in the states. You can see it's popularity in recent music, Spanish translations on signs everywhere, etc.. I have no doubts that it could one day be declared the 2nd official language in the states. It makes me happy to see such a diverse nation and I'd love for more places like this to open up with other cool language ideas :) Felicidades...
Read moreThis place is simply magical. I've had more enjoyable conversations here with total strangers than I've had in any other Seattle establishment in decades. The staff greets you with a genuine smile, and will remember your name if you're wise enough to visit more than once. The tapas are phenoenal (the pan con tomato makes me want to burst out in song), and whether you go café, vino, sangria, or caña con limón, you will not be disappointed!
The events are not to be missed. I often go solo and have an absolute ball. That's a testament to the staff AND the patrons. It's truly a community. As a spanish learner, I really, really needed this place, and i'm so happy it's here. Amanda, Marena, Brenda and Nancy - ¡GRACIAS! ¡Nos...
