This is an alright dog park.
The positives: It is centrally located by Green Lake, so perfect for some playing and then walking around the lack with your dog The terrain and layout is interesting, and unlike any other I have been to. The dog park itself is on a really steep hill, and my little dog enjoyed running on it The park is shaded and cool when I was there on a warm summer day There appear to be some running trails in the park as well, on which I saw some off leash dogs (no idea if that is allowed though...)
The negatives: That super steep hill is not the most accessible, and I can imagine it is a nightmare in the rain There are no lights in or near the park or parking, so I can imagine it gets dark pretty early in the winter There is only one dumpster for poop bags (outside in the parking lot) so many people just left the bags on the ground/benches/fences inside. There were at least 5 I counted around the park. There are only a few parking spots near the park itself, otherwise you need to find parking near Green Lake or further up near some picnic shelters
Overall, this park is fine. I'll take my dog there and then enjoy walking around Green Lake, but I wouldn't go there JUST for the dog park. There were maybe 3 other dogs there the...
Read moreI decided to take my son out his room and invite him to the Woodland Park. Notorious issues First, road closed. hard to get to the Zoo, Second parking tickets $2 dollars more, buying them by phone and.Third, inside Park with FACE MASK ON, We still have to keep the 6 feet.distance and, the worst was every place that we went , we couldn't find any animal just a few, a bunch of spiders and spider's web everywhere, wherever we did go just windows and no animal, something important that you were excited and wanted to see, you had to wait in line. I'm not going to complain about the money for the tickets the Park really need it more than we do. The only important thing to me was, give to my son a beautiful day of learning and knowing from different animals but, you failed me again Woodland Park. My son was bored and upset because I told him about the beautiful experience that he wil have going with me to the Park In my personal opinion, open the Park on these times is a big mistake, the 3 or 4 animals that were lucky to see, they didn't look ok, neither. The Woodland Park now these days is more like walking in the mountains trails, where you can hear something but you can't see it and, they charge you money...
